RBI Assistant Recruitment 2024: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is expected to release RBI Assistant notification 2024 soon. Q:   What is RBI Assistant selection process?

The selection process includes preliminary and Mains exams followed by a Language Proficiency Test (LPT). The prelims exam is divided into three sections English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. The total marks allotted to the test are 100. The total duration of the preliminary exam is 60 minutes. The Mains exam carries questions from Test of Reasoning, Test of English Language, Test of Numerical Ability, Test of General Awareness and Test of Computer Knowledge. The total marks allotted to the test are 200. The marks of the Mains exam are taken into consideration for the final merit list. Candidates qualifying the Mains exam are called for LPT. The marks obtained in the prelims exam are not counted for the final merit list. The prelims exam serves as a screening test for the mains exam.

Q:   Which one is better - RBI Assistant or SBI PO?

SBI PO and RBI Assistant are the most sought after banking exams in the country. The participation of candidates is more in SBI PO than RBI Assistant. The number of vacancies are more in SBI PO than in RBI Assistant. SBI PO is conducted for the recruitment of Probationary Officers in the various branches of SBI. RBI Assistant Recruitment 2024 Application Process

RBI Assistant application form is accepted in online mode only. The application fees, INR 450 for OBC/General/EWS candidates and INR 50 for SC/ST/PWD/EXS, need to be paid online. The application process comprises registration, uploading of scanned documents, filling the detailed form and fee payment. The details entered in the application form can be edited within the prescribed application deadline. The steps to fill RBI Assistant application form are given below:

A:

All candidates working in Government Sector, Government owned industrial undertakings,  Public Sector Undertakings / Financial Institutions/Banks, Public Enterprises or other similar organizations, whether in a permanent or temporary capacity or as work-charged employees other than casual or daily rated employees, are required to inform their employer (Head of Office/Department) in writing, about applying for this recruitment. Prior to the submission of their application online to the bank. At the time of applying online, candidates working in such organisations, are required to submit an undertaking that they have informed in writing about applying for this recruitment to their Head of Office/Department. RBI Assistant Eligibility

RBI Assistant eligibility are certain parameters in terms of age, nationality and educational qualification. Candidates applying for the exam must check the eligibility before applying. According to RBI Assistant eligibility, the age of candidates should be between 20 and 28 years. Candidates born not earlier than 02/09/1995 and not later than 01/09/2003 (both days inclusive) are only eligible to apply. Candidates must have completed graduation from any discipline with a minimum of 50 per cent (pass class for SC/ST/PwBD candidates). Candidates must have knowledge of computers.

Q:   What is the educational criteria for RBI Assistant?

The educational qualification for RBI Assistant has been given below for the candidates. The candidates who want to appear for the RBI Assistant exam must fulfill the educational qualification eligibility criteria for the RBI Assistant exam:

Q:   Can a 3rd year student give RBI Assistant exam?

A:

Candidates, who are in the final semester/year of graduation can also apply provisionally subject to the condition if called for an interview, they need to produce proof of having passed the graduation. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50 per cent marks (pass class for SC/ST/PWD candidates) in the aggregate and the knowledge of word processing on Personal Computer (PC). If a candidate is belonging to the Ex-servicemen category (except dependents of ex-servicemen) then they should either be a graduate from a recognised University or should have passed the matriculation or its equivalent examination of the Armed Forces and rendered at least 15 years of defence service. RBI Assistant exam pattern is divided into prelims exam, mains exam and Language Proficiency Test. The prelims exam carries questions from English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. A total of 100 marks are allotted for prelims exam. The mains exam of RBI Assistant carries questions from Test of Reasoning, Test of English Language, Test of Numerical Ability, Test of General Awareness and Test of Computer Knowledge. The total mark allotted to this paper is 200. Candidates qualifying the mains exam are called for the Language Proficiency Test before the final appointment.

RBI Assistant exam is conducted in CBT online mode by the Reserve Bank of India. The candidates must prepare for the exam in the CBT mode. The total marks allotted to the prelims exam are 100. Candidates need to answer 100 questions within 60 minutes. RBI Assistant mains exam comprises five sections-Test of Reasoning, Test of English Language, Test of Numerical Ability, Test of General Awareness and Test of Computer Knowledge. There are a total of 200 questions and the total marks of the test are 200. Candidates need to complete the paper within 135 minutes.

RBI Assistant Recruitment 2024 Salary

RBI Assistant basic salary of the selected candidates is INR 20,700 per month. The pay scale is INR 20,700-1200 (3)-24,300-1440 (4)-30,060-1920 (6)-41,580-2080 (2)-45,740-2370 (3)-52,850-2850-55,700 (20 years). The other allowances offered to candidates are Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Transport Allowance etc., as admissible from time to time. At present, initial monthly gross emoluments for Assistants will be approximately INR 45,050. The job profile of RBI Assistant is given below.

  • RBI Assistant is a clerical-level post. Selected candidates will be posted in various regional offices of RBI and these offices are mainly located in the state capital. Candidates recruited for the RBI Assistant post have the following responsibilities:
  • Candidates working on the RBI Assistant post are required to maintain files which include the collection of receipts, maintaining of Ledger, Balance tally, etc.
  • Candidates are also responsible for Data Entry. They need to enter day-to-day transactions on a computer
  • Relying and maintaining email logs
  • Relying to RTI (Right to Information) Queries
  • Currency Issue & Circulation
  • Selected candidates need to verify Banking Document

Q:   What is the pay scale of RBI Assistant?

A:

The initial basic pay of RBI Assistant is INR 20,700 per month (as per revised salary) with a pay scale of INR 20700-1200 (3)-24300-1440 (4) – 30060-1920 (6)-41580-2080 (2)-45740-2370 (3)-52850-2850-55700 (20 years). The revised gross salary of an RBI Assistant is INR 45,050 per month including Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Transport Allowance etc. In case, the employees are not staying the apartments, they will be paid with House Allowance of 15 per cent of Pay additional. An amount of INR 3575 is deducted from the net gross pay of an RBI Assistant. Candidates are given reimbursement of expenses for maintenance of vehicle for official purpose, Newspapers, Briefcase, Book Grant, Allowance for furnishing of residence, etc. as per eligibility, Dispensary facility besides reimbursement of medical expenses for OPD treatment or hospitalization as per eligibility, Interest-free Festival Advance, Leave Fare Concession, Loan and Advance at concession rates of interest for Housing, Car, Education, Consumer Articles, Personal Computer, etc. It will be available to regular employees who will put in at least two years of service. The recruits will be governed by the Define Contribution New Pension Scheme, in addition to the benefit of Gratuity.

RBI Assistant Recruitment Selection Process

The selection process comprises prelims and mains exams followed by the Language Proficiency Test (LPT). The marks obtained in the prelims exam is not counted for the final merit list. The final selection of candidates is done on the basis of the mains exam subject to qualifying the LPT. The LPT is qualifying in nature, however, it is mandatory to clear this test.
