SSC CPO Exam Date 2025: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) announced the SSC CPO exam dates 2025. SSC CPO 2025 notification will be released on May 16, 2025. SSC CPO application form 2025 will be available from May 16 to June 14, 2025. SSC CPO 2025 exam will be conducted in July-August 2025. SSC CPO dates highlight the important events related to the exam such as the release of the application form, issue of admit card, exam dates of Paper-I, PET/PST, Paper-II, and Detailed Medical Exam (DME), declaration of result and many more.

Q:   When SSC CPO 2025 exam will be conducted?

A: 

SSC CPO exam is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) every year to recruit candidates for the post of Sub Inspector in Delhi Police and Sub Inspector in CAPFs. SSC CPO 2025 exam will be conducted in July-August 2025. The selection process comprises Paper 1, Physical Standard Test (PST)/ Physical Endurance Test (PET), Paper 2 and Detailed Medical Examination (DME).

Q:   What is SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria?

A: 

SSC CPO eligibility criteria are certain parameters which candidates need to fulfill inorder to apply for the exam. The eligibility criteria comprises several parameters such as age, nationality and educational qualification. SSC CPO eligibility criteria is given below:

Nationality:

  • Other than the Indian nationals, the following candidates can apply
  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan having a certificate in the favour of their category issued by the Indian Government
  • Candidates, in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary are admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment is given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to them by the Government of India

Age Limit: The age of candidates should be between 20 and 25 years. Candidates must have been born not before 02.01.1997 and not later than 01.01.2002. Relaxation in the upper age limit of five years is provided to SC/ST candidates and three years to OBC and Ex-Servicemen categories.

Educational Qualification: Any graduate candidate can apply for the SSC CPO exam.

SSC CPO Admit Card: The facility to download SSC CPO admit card is made available on the respective regional websites of the commission at least two weeks before the exam. To download SSC CPO admit card, candidates need to enter registration number or roll number and date of birth.

SSC CPO Answer Key: The commission releases the tentative SSC CPO answer key a few days after the completion of the test. Candidates can go through SSC CPO answer keys and submit representations, if any, within the time frame specified by SSC. To submit challenges, candidates need to pay INR 100 per question. The answer keys are scrutinised before publishing the final keys.

SSC CPO Result: The result is announced online on the official website. SSC CPO result is made available in PDF format in the form of a merit list. On the basis of the performance in Paper 1, candidates are shortlisted for PET/PST. The PET/ PST is mandatory but qualifying in nature. Only those candidates are allowed to appear in Paper 2 who qualify the PET/PST. On the basis of the performance in Paper 1 and 2, candidates are shortlisted for appearing in the medical examination. Successful candidates in the medical exam are called for document verification. SSC CPO cutoff is released along with the result.

Q:   What are SSC CPO application fees?

A: 

SSC CPO application fee is INR 100 for General and OBC candidates. All female candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Schedule Tribe, Persons with benchmark Disabilities (Divyangjans) and ExServicemen candidates eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee. After filling the online application form, candidates can pay the fees online only through net banking, Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit cards. Earlier, candidates could pay their application fees through challan. However, the process of fee payment through challan has been discontinued by SSC. The application fees once paid by candidates will not be refunded. After fee payment, candidates should take the printout of the fee transaction receipt.

Q:   What is the training period for SSC CPO?

A: 

The training syllabi for induction courses are confined to training institutions. The duration of training is usually of six to nine months. Indoor training involves imparting knowledge on various subjects under the law, police science, police rules, practical work, criminology, cybercrime and terrorism, human behavior, etc. The outdoor module trains the officers in several fields- physical exercise and drills, vehicle driving, handling of arms and weapons, and practice firing. Special emphasis is given to fitness and unarmed combat. Candidates selected through SSC CPO exam are appointed to the post of Sub Inspector with either the Delhi Police, the CAPF or as Assistant Sub Inspector in CISF. The CAPF is a Paramilitary force also known as the Central Armed Police Forces. It is not directly a wing of the Military and it comes under the Home Ministry.

  • Protecting the border between India & Pakistan

The job profile of SSB is border guarding and armed defense to Intelligence Bureau and other topmost authorities in India. Grade pay is INR 4200. Inhand salary ranges from INR 35400 to INR 112400. The promotion opportunities are similar to that of BSF.

Sub Inspector in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)

The job profile of CISF personnel contains guarding our PSUs (Public Sector Undertakings). The grade pay of CISF personnel ranges between INR 2400 to INR 4200. On Adding all other bonuses and allowances the in-hand salary ranges between INR 20,200 to INR 34,800 regarding the rankings.

Sub Inspector in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)

They are determined to maintain law and order in the country. The grade pay is INR 4200 and after adding all other allowances, the in-hand salary ranges between INR 20,200 to INR 80,000.

Sub Inspector in Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)

Their duty contains maintaining security along with India- the Tibet border and stopping illegal immigration from Tibet. The grade pay is INR 2000 and after adding all other allowances, the in-hand salary ranges between INR 6,460 to INR 80,000.
