WB SET cut off 2024 will be released by West Bengal College Service Commission (WBCSC) for the 26th SET exam along with the results. The cut-off will be released for all 33 subjects. Candidates can check the subject-wise cut off marks for all 33 subjects and the category-wise cutoff for General, EWS, OBC, SC, ST, PwD and Transgender below. Candidates who score the cut-off marks are named in the WB SET merit list in the order of their ranks. As per the UGC policy, only 6 per cent of the total appearing candidates get into the merit list of the WB SET examination. The WB SET cutoff marks are released by the commission every year after the publication of the results. 

The WB SET result 2024  will be declared by the WBCSC after the completion of the assessment process.

Q:   I have secured the minimum qualifying marks for the WB SET exam for Assistant Professor; still I am not qualified, why?

A: 

The candidates need to qualify for both papers that are paper 1 and paper 2 in order to be eligible to qualify for the WB SET exam. The candidates have to score a minimum of 40 per cent marks (Unreserved category) and 35 per cent of marks to qualify for the WB SET exam. However, among the candidates crossing the minimum qualifying marks, the top 6 per cent of the candidates will be made qualified for the Assistant Professor.

Q:   Is there any negative marking in WB SET exam?

A: 

No, WB SET (West Bengal State Eligibility Test) does not follow any negative marking scheme. The counting of marks is basd on the correct answers given by the candidate and no marks are deducted for the incorrect answers. The marking scheme for the WB SET exam has been given below:

  • Marks for the correct answers:+2 marks 
  • Marks for the incorrect answers: 0 marks

Q:   I want my WB SET score to be re-evaluated. What is the process for the same?

A: 

There is no provision for re-evaluation/re-checking of WB SET result. The official notification reads, No correspondence in this regard shall be entertained. The candidates can only raise objections against the provisional answer key. Based on the objections raised by the candidates the final answer key and the result is released.

The WB SET (West Bengal State Eligibility Test) exam pattern is prescribed by the West Bengal College Service Commission (WBCSC). The candidatesappearing for the WB SET exam must know the exam pattern. The WB SET exam pattern has been given below:

The 26th edition of the WB SET 2024 exam was conducted on December 15, 2024. The authority released the WB SET 2024 admit card on November 20, 2024, on the official website. An admit card is an important document required to be carried by a candidate at their respective exam centres.
