WB SET application 2024 is an online process. Candidates need to register online on the official website. All applicants applying for the exam need to provide their basic and educational details, upload the scanned photograph and signature and pay the application fee. • There is no upper age limit to apply for the WB SET 2024 exam.
• Candidates who have secured at least 55 per cent marks in their Master’s Degree and belong to any UGC accredited Universities/Institutions are eligible for the test.
• The Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to non-creamy layer/ Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Candidates/ Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ persons with disability (PWD) category candidates who have secured at least 50 per cent marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for the test.
• Candidates who have appeared for their Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for the test. However, such candidates shall be considered eligible for Assistant Professor only after they have passed their Master's Degree OR equivalent examination with at least 55 per cent marks [50 per cent marks in case of OBC falling in Non-creamy layer/EWS/SC/ST/PWD (persons with disability) category candidates].

WB SET 2024 exam comprises two papers- Paper 1 and 2. WB SET Paper 1 is compulsory for all disciplines that aim to test the general and teaching aptitude of the applicants. WB SET Paper 2 is subject-specific. Check the table below to know the WB SET exam pattern 2024:

General, OBC, and SC/ ST/ PWD candidates need to score 40 per cent, 35 per cent,  and 35 per cent in aggregate respectively to qualify for the exam. Upon qualifying for WB SET, successful candidates are awarded the SET certificates.
