As per the UGC (University Grants Commission), MPhil is no longer a recognised degree.
APRCET counselling is expected to be conducted a one month after the results of the entrance exam are announced. Candidates who have cleared the APRCET written test and oral interview are directed to go through the seat distribution lists, which will be available on the official website of Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. The candidate will receive a call from their respective university department. It is mandatory for the candidate to attend the viva voce. However, the university clearly states that attending the counselling session does not guarantee admission.
Important Documents for APRCET Counselling 2023
Candidates who are called for APRCET counselling are advised to bring the relevant documents (in original) to their centre. The list of documents that candidates need to carry at the time of counselling are listed below:
- It is mandatory for the candidate to bring in his APRCET 2023 entrance exam Admit card for the interview.
- Provisional/original certificates and marks statement will be required for the qualifying examination.
- A transfer certificate will be required from the university/institute where the aspirant last studied.
- The candidate will have to bring in a migration certificate in case he/she has studied from other universities.
- Date of birth certificate is required.
- The candidate will require a physical fitness certificate from a Medical officer/Andhra University/Government Assistant Surgeon.
- Service certificates (Part-Time) from the organization where the candidate worked/are working.
- A no-objection certificate (NOC) is required from the present organization (For candidates who opt for the part-time course).
- One set of attested copies of the mentioned certificates/documents.
APRCET 2023 Interview Method
Given below is the information related to the interview round for APRCET exam:
Stage 1: Presentation
Before sitting down for the oral interview, candidates will have to discuss their research interest through a presentation in front of a three-panel committee.
Stage 2: Oral Interview
Once the candidate is finished with their respective presentation, the aspirant will then be seated for an oral interview with a three-panel committee. The committee consists of the Chairman (Board of studies), Head of the department and one senior faculty member from the department who will be nominated by the vice-chancellor.
The candidate will have to keep in mind that the viva voce comprises 20 marks, which will also be added to the marks obtained in the entrance exam (180 marks). The marks in the oral interview will be based on the following:
- Possessing the competence in the research work presented.
- On whether the proposed research work is relevant and can be undertaken in the university.
- On whether the research work presented can contribute to additional knowledge in the university.
Note: The dates for the second round of admission will be announced after the APRCET 2023 entrance exam results have been declared.
