Q:   Who can apply for PUMDET?

A:

Anybody who's an Indian national can apply for PUMDET. There is no upper age limit to be eligible for the exam. Since the entrance exam is of the postgraduate level, the exam body demands that the applicants must have studied their chosen subject in their undergraduate programme. However, this may vary from course to course. Applicants must have scored at least 50% or equivalent CGPA in the finals of their undergraduate programme. Reserved category candidates may get a 5% relaxation on this score number.

PUMDET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility requirements for PUMDET 2025 are provided below.

Age Limit: No upper or lower age limit

Academic Qualification

  • Have cleared (not before 2019) or appeared for the BA (Hons) examination in 2023 from any recognized University.
  • Have appeared for the BA (Hons) exam and should have their final results at the time of counselling and produce their original mark sheets/grade cards of all semester/annual examinations passed at the Bachelor’s level. Such candidates must fulfil the academic eligibility norms for their applied courses tabled below for admission.
  • Have appeared for their final BA (Hons) examination, but their final results have not been declared at the time of counselling, such candidates shall be given provisional admission on the basis of the production of their previous mark sheets/grade cards of all previous semester/annual examinations at their Bachelor’s level. However, candidates are supposed to submit their final mark sheet by the mentioned date to ensure that they fulfil their minimum eligibility criteria for admission.
  • Must secure the minimum required percentage of marks/CGPA in honours/major subject as per the following table in their BA (Hons) examination for final and confirmed admission.

PUMDET 2025 Application Process

The PUMDET 2025 application form will be available online on the exam body's website. Aspirants must go through the eligibility criteria before applying to avoid disqualification at any stage. Filling out the PUMDET application form requires registering with personal details and contact details followed by which they can fill the form with particulars like academic details, course preferences, exam centre preferences, etc. The application fee must also be paid online right after filling out the form. Candidates can pay the application fee for PUBDET using Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card or by cash using Allahabad Bank e-challan. The fee amount is mentioned below.

Yes. Candidates should have done their BA (Hons) and not just a normal BA programme to be eligible for admission to PG courses. The academic eligibility criteria is as follows:
