CLAT UG exam pattern

As per the new exam pattern released by the CLAT Consortium, the CLAT 2021 question paper for undergraduate (UG) course admissions will contain passage-based multiple-choice questions (MCQs). This means that every section of CLAT question paper will contain a short/long reading passage followed by a series of questions. Candidates have to read the given passage and then select the correct answer from the answer options given in the subsequent questions.

There will be total 150 questions in the CLAT exam. Maximum marks that candidates can score in the exam are also 150. Subjects from which questions will be asked in the CLAT-UG 2021 exam include:

• English Language
• Current Affairs including General Knowledge
• Logical Reasoning
• Legal Reasoning
• Quantitative Techniques

CLAT PG exam pattern

Similar to last year, the CLAT Consortium has removed the subjective section from the question paper format this year as well. As per the new CLAT 2021 exam pattern, the PG question paper will contain total 120 objective-type questions of 120 marks. Subjects from which questions will be asked in the CLAT-PG 2021 exam include:

• Constitutional Law
• Other law subjects such as Jurisprudence, Administrative Law, Law of Contract, Torts, Family Law, Criminal Law, Property Law, Company Law, Public International Law, Tax Law, Environmental Law, and Labour & Industrial Law

• Each section of the question paper will comprise reading passages or short sets of facts, propositions, graphs, etc. followed by a series of questions
• Any prior knowledge of Law will not be necessary to crack the CLAT UG exam
• The difficulty level of the CLAT UG question paper will be of Class 12 level
• Only candidates who secure at least 40 per cent in objective section of CLAT PG exam will qualify for evaluation for their answers in descriptive section
