Some of the best ways to approach questions in the Legal Reasoning section of the CLAT 2026 exam include:

1. Carefully Read the Passage: Start by reading the passage thoroughly to understand its principles.
2. Analyze Each Question: Read each question attentively to determine if the principles relate to the same facts presented in the passage (with or without some alterations) or to a separate set of facts.
3. Identify and Break Down the Principle: Once you've identified both the principle and the facts, break down the principle into smaller, manageable parts. For example, if a principle states, "A person who operates a drone at a height in excess of 500 feet in a public place is guilty of nuisance," you should identify three requirements: (i) the person should be operating the drone, (ii) the drone should be above 500 feet, and (iii) the operation should be in a public place.
4.Pay Attention to 'OR' and 'AND' Conditions: Carefully note any 'OR' and 'AND' conditions while breaking down the principle. Using the previous example, if the principle were worded as, "A person who operates a drone at a height in excess of 500 feet or in a public place is guilty of nuisance," you would have one 'AND' condition and one 'OR' condition. This small change can significantly alter the outcome.

• Similar to the wording of a principle, also pay close attention to the small tweaks to the facts that can also have a big impact on the outcome of a question. For instance,

• Remember that a passage may have more than one principle and more than set of incidents. While in some questions you will be asked to apply the same principle to different fact situations, in others, each question may relate to a different principle and fact situation. Therefore, be very careful while attempting a question.
• While attempting the questions, do not apply any pre-existing knowledge of laws that you may have as it can lead to unnecessary errors
