CLAT 2025 Application Process OVER

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) opened the CLAT registration window 2025 for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) on July 15, 2024. The law aspirants seeking admissions through CLAT 2025 could fill CLAT Application Form on or before October 22, 2024. Earlier, the last date to fill CLAT Application Form 2025 was October 15, 2024. However, later the consortium extended it. CLAT 2025 Exam Date is December 1, 2024. First-time applicants might face some difficulties in filling up the CLAT application. Candidates learned how to fill out the application form for CLAT 2025, following each step to complete the form correctly. The Consortium kept the CLAT Application Correction Window open until October 25, 2024, at 11:59 PM.

Steps to fill CLAT 2025 Application Form

Candidates could follow the steps below to fill the application form of CLAT without making any errors:

Step 1 - CLAT Registration

  • Visit the official website of CLAT Consortium - https://consortiumofnlus.ac.in/ and a message will appear on the homepage (see in the image below) and candidates had to click on ‘CLICK HERE’ to visit the application window
  • On the left side of the application window, a login form was given and candidates registering for the first time had to click on ‘Don’t have an account? Register’ button
  • The online registration form of CLAT 2025 poped-up on the screen and candidates had to provide following details to register:

Name – As mentioned on the academic documents (class 10th certificate or name change certificate if any)

Q:   Is CLAT 2025 registration form out?

A:

No, the CLAT 2025 Application Form was released on July 15. The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) began the CLAT 2025 Registration Process from July 15 and candidates could apply until October 22, 2024. CLAT 2025 Exam Date was December 1.Candidates must note that CLAT 2025 Application Form could be filled online only. Only those candidates who have filled CLAT Application Form 2025 successfully, were able to appear for the CLAT Exam. 

Q:   When can I fill CLAT form?

A:

The online application form of CLAT 2025 was released on July 15, 2024. The application form of CLAT 2025 was made avaiable on the official website; i.e. consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Candidates could fill a single application form for all participating NLUs until the last date of CLAT Registration 2025; i.e. October 22, 2024. 

Q:   When will CLAT 2025 application form be released?

A:

The online application form of CLAT 2025 was released on July 15, 2024. The Consortium provided more then 2 months time to candidates to fill the CLAT 2025 application form. The application form of CLAT 2025 was made available at consortiumofnlus.ac.in, and candidates could fill a single application form for all participating NLUs until the October 22. Mobile Number – Candidates had to enter a valid mobile phone number either their own or parents'/ guardian’s

Password – Candidates had to create a secure and strong password that has at least one numerical, one number, one symbol, an uppercase and a lower case alphabet and it should be at least 8 characters long

After this, candidates had to click on the ‘Register’ button and an OTP was sent on the registered mobile number. Candidates have to use this OTP to activate CLAT login account as under:

Step 2 - Account Activation

Candidates hadto enter the OTP received on their mobile number to access the CLAT application form.

Step 3 - Filling up the application form

Candidates can then use their CLAT login to fill up the application form as under:

Upload photograph and signature – Candidates also had to upload their photograph and signature after they register for CLAT 2025. The photograph had to be front-facing and clear image. Signature had to be a scanned copy, and file format should be jpg/ jpeg only.

Q:   What is the CLAT 2025 fee structure for all NLUs?

A:

The NLU fees vary as per the course and college chosen by the candidate. However, the average fee of NLUs for UG courses ranges from INR 1.8-2.8 Lacs and for PG programme ranges from INR 80,000 to 2.18 Lacs. Q:   Can I fill CLAT application form in phases?

A:
Yes, you can fill the CLAT application form in phases. Each step of the CLAT application form will provide a 'Save' option using which candidates can save the filled-in information. In case, candidates want to exit and complete the application form next time then they simply need to log in again and continue from where they left. The application process of CLAT will be complete once candidates pay the fee and submit the form. Moreover, candidates can login again and correct their details in the application form of CLAT as long as the window is open.

Q:   How much is CLAT 2025 application fee?

A:

The application fee for CLAT exam was different as per the category of a candidate. For General/OBC/PWD/PIO/OCI/NRI, the application fee was INR 4,000 and for SC/ST/BPL category, the application fee was INR 3,500. Extra charges of INR 500 were applicable if candidates wanted to obtain previous years' CLAT question papers from the exam authority. Apart from CLAT application fee and cost of question paper bundle, candidates had to pay any other charges.

Q:   Is CLAT 2025 application form the same for all courses?

A:

The application form was same for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Candidates could select your programme of study at the time of filling the application form. The first step of CLAT application process was to select the course of admission, and the application window/ dashboard showed two options - Undergraduate for 5-year LL.B. And Postgraduate for 1-year LL. M. course that candidates can opt for. CLAT application form was made available only for 5-year LL.B. And LL. M. course and the application fee was same for both course levels.

Q:   Is CLAT Application Correction Window 2025 opened?

A:

No, the CLAT Application Correction Window 2025 has been closed. The Consortium kept the CLAT Correction Window 2025 open until October 25, 2024. All those candidates who had applied for CLAT 2025 and wanted to make a correction to the already submitted form could make the required changes until the deadline.

Fill up the form – Candidates had to fill the following details in the application form:

  • Enter Applicant Name – as per the class 10+2 certificate
  • Select gender
  • Select Date of Birth in MM/DD/YY format
  • Enter the father’s name
  • Enter the mother’s name
  • Select nationality
  • Select All India Category – General/ OBC/ SC/ ST (If you select the category other than general then, a new field will open up for uploading a supporting document as issued by the competent authority. The document should be in pdf file format and the size should be less than 1.5 MB)
  • Select if belonging to PWD or BPL (Below Poverty Line) category – If yes, then respective documents need to upload in pdf file format and size not more than 1.5 MB)

After this, candidates had to proceed on the next step as under:

Communication details – Candidates had to enter the communication address related information as under:

  • Correspondence address – present residential address
  • Select state/ UT, District
  • Enter PIN code of your corresponding address
  • Enter Permanent Address – fill the same details as correspondence if the address is same.
  • Enter mobile number and email ID

Qualifying examination details – In this form, the candidates had to provide the following details related to their academics:

  • Qualifying examination
  • Board/ University
  • Status of qualifying examination – whether already appeared, appearing or passed
  • Select month of passing the examination
  • Select year of passing
  • Enter the qualifying marks in percentage

Test Centre Preference – Candidates had to select at least three cities from the list of CLAT 2025 test centres in order of preference.

College Preferences – In this step, candidates had to mark the National Law Universities (NLUs) in order of preference. All the 24 NLUs will be listed on this page.

Reservation – Candidates in this step were able to select the reservation quota available in each NLU. Fill in the required details if seeking admission under the reserved category.

Step 4 - Fee payment

After filling up the application form, candidates had to pay the CLAT application fee as under:

  1. Click on green coloured ‘Make Payment’ button available on the dashboard
  2. On clicking this, a pop up will appear as under:

Candidates should note that additional bank charges INR 50 or more will be included in the application fee. After making the application fee payment, the message will appear as under:
