To avoid the same, what students can do is skip the theory parts of the chapters, and do the exercises given at the end of every chapter, with enough number of revisions.

Best CLAT Books for General Knowledge and Current Affairs
This topic is very vast and there is no syllabus as such to study the same, and therefore preparing for this section is a never-ending task. Nevertheless, this should not deter a student from preparing as well as possible for the section.
- For static General Knowledge (or simply General Knowledge), a student should prefer Lucent’s General Knowledge 2023, since this book contains condensed and accurate information on the topics. Another book to improve your knowledge on this section is General Knowledge 2023-24 by Tarun Goyal.
- According to the trend, most questions in past few years in this section have been from Current Affairs, and to improve the same, it is advisable to read newspapers daily, preferably either The Hindu or Indian Express. Moreover, one can also find ample relevant material online, stick to well-known websites and publishers.
- While studying for this section, the order of preference (from most relevant to least relevant) of an ideal candidate should be, Current Affairs, Indian Polity, Modern History, Economics, Geography, Ancient/Medieval History and Science.

Best CLAT Books for Quantitative Aptitude
Although this topic contains the least number of questions, nevertheless, it is important to make the best of this section. Students should not feel intimidated by this section, since topics that this section covers are from Class 10 and below. Quantitative Aptitude by RS Aggarwal should suffice in covering this section, and with enough practice, the Mathematics section can even turn out to be a bonus.

Best CLAT Books for Legal Reasoning
This section remains the most important of all the sections and includes questions pertaining both to legal reasoning and legal GK (which includes Legal Current Affairs, Static Legal Knowledge, and Legal vocabulary). Some recommended books are:
- Universal’s Guide to CLAT LLB Entrance Examination,
- Pearson’s Guide to the CLAT 2025,
- Legal Awareness and Legal Reasoning for CLAT LLB Entrance Examinations.
Legal Maxims and terminology should be thoroughly studied and revised, since the number of such maxims and terms are limited, and questions are bound to be asked from among them.
Legal reasoning can be improved only with the constant practice since options will be very close to each other and, there will only be minute differences between the options, which can only be detected with regular practice.

Best CLAT Books for Logical Reasoning
This is another important topic with heavy weightage and is not to be neglected by any means. Continuous practice is very important in this topic, and some of the books, that will help prepare for this particular section are:
- Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning by RS Aggarwal
- Arihant’s A New Approach to Verbal and Analytical Reasoning.
This is one of the most scoring sections of the paper and the kind of questions where you can be certain about whether you answered the question correctly or not. However, logical reasoning questions also take time, hence, time management in dealing with these questions is important.

It is also worth mentioning that apart from the above-recommended books and sources, if aspirants choose to follow and refer to study material from other private institutions, then it is preferable to follow material from coaching institutions that exclusively cater to prepare students for CLAT and similar law entrance examinations exclusively.
Finally, it is important to remember that preparation for CLAT (or any competitive examination) is incomplete without going through relevant previous years’ CLAT question papers. This will give you a fair idea about what to expect in the examination and will help you in streamlining your preparation and focusing on relevant material and avoiding irrelevant material. Remember, the exam is a game, you are the player, and you have to collect as many points as possible to win the game!
