CLAT exam analysis 2025 is now out for the CLAT Exam 2025. Shiksha released the exam analysis for CLAT exam from the test-takers, to know about the question paper details and section-wise difficulty level. CLAT question paper analysis is shared on the basis of the reviews given by the experts and candidates. The CLAT 2025 Exam was observed as moderately difficult with few tricky questions in the CLAT UG Quantitative Techniques section. No, it is not possible for you to get the NLU, although at this score you must have already received admission letters from private universities. Better take a year's drop.
CLAT cut-off usually ranges between 95-100 for the general category while for SC/ST and OBC category CLAT cut-off usually ranges between 80-85. Based on the previous year's analysis, CLAT Cut-off 2025 for the top 3 NLUs is expected to be between 100-105, and for the top 5 NLUs, it is expected to be between 90-95.

Q: Is there negative marking in CLAT PG?
The CLAT exam's marking scheme is based on the idea of negative grading. This indicates that 0.25 points is subtracted from the candidate's final score for each wrong response. One mark is given for each accurate response, and 0.25 marks is subtracted for each erroneous response. Hence, candidates have to be very carefull while marking their answers. Since, CLAT PG 2025 will have negative marking, students are advised to avoid guesswork and only answer the questions they are confident about.

CLAT 2025 Students' Reaction and Paper Analysis
Yuvaan Shami, another CLAT UG candidate, felt that the exam was quite easy overall. H found the English section to be the easiest, while Logical Reasoning was the section he struggled with. The majority of the questions came from Legal Reasoning topics.
As per Ria, who appeared for CLAT UG Exam 2025 the exam was manageable, especially for those who were well-prepared and had practiced across all sections. As always, staying calm and focused on each section seemed to be key for a successful attempt. Legal Reasoning was however a bit more challenging due to its length and depth of the questions, but not impossible for well-prepared candidates.
Aditya felt that some of the sections especially logical reasoning section was easy to moderate however it has some little confusing passages. Since the length of the passages was not that long he was able to solve it in less time.
Vani shared that since the paper was tough as per her preparation, there is a possibility that the CLAT Cutoff will go high this year. Some of the passages in the General Knowledge section have been updated, although there was at least one straightforward passage, the section was still considered moderately difficult overall.
Anika Shankar shared that the section was comparatively easier with short passages on different laws like the Juvenile Justice Act, Void and Voidable Marriage, etc. With all the questions coming from the current legal knowledge, the section was easy. She will also be appearing for AILET Exam next Sunday.

CLAT PG 2025 Students Reaction and Paper Analysis
Subhash who also appeared for CLAT PG, found questions on Company Law to be the toughest. She noted that some unexpected topics, such as the Tribunal, were covered in the exam. Ritu expects the cutoff for the exam to be higher due to these surprising inclusions.
Prachi found the CLAT PG 2025 paper to be of moderate difficulty. He mentioned that, apart from Constitutional Law, there were no particularly difficult questions. While topics like Contract, Torts, Criminal Law, International Law, IPR, and Jurisprudence were easy, Law and Contemporary Issues posed some challenges. Vikram predicted that the cutoff for CLAT PG 2025 would be around 95.
Rashi another CLAT PG 2025 candidate, described the paper as moderate, with no unexpected questions.
Atishi who appeared for the CLAT LLM 2025 exam, found the question paper easy, with no difficult questions. He was able to attempt most of the questions within the allotted time.
Vihaan felt that the CLAT LLM 2025 paper was of moderate difficulty. The paper was comprehensive and followed the expected exam pattern for CLAT 2025.

If you go through the pattern of CLAT exam, you will see that it is mostly general and does not involve any difficult subject. If you have basic understanding of English and have some interest in reading news and Current Affairs you are ready for two sections. The most challenging part, for most students, is Mathematics. However, it is of elementary standard and does not require special knowledge. If you did well in Math in class X, you have an edge. Only section that needs special preparation is legal aptitude. Most class XII students do not have idea about law. If you start in time and join coaching classes for help, you can get a hold of the basics in no time.
So, we can say that CLAT is easy if you have basic knowledge of topics involved and you are prepared for some hard work to hone your skills further.

CLAT cut off is always released in the form of opening and closing ranks by each NLU after the conclusion of counseling rounds. Q: What after CLAT Result 2025?
The CLAT admission process after the results are declared is as mentioned below:
- CLAT counseling: The number of candidates invited for counseling will be FIVE times the number of seats available in each category. The consortium will upload the list of eligible candidates on its website before the start of counseling registration.

As per the candidates' feedback, there were a few passages in the General Knowledge part that were changed. Some questions with a static orientation were included, along with a few unexpected topics. Even though this segment had at least one straightforward passage, it was still moderately difficult overall.
Another test taker said that, with many conceptual problems, the logical section was moderately long. The English exam was similarly long but not too hard, with a lot of vocabulary problems. Arithmetic was challenging. There were some unexpected themes, and general awareness was only mediocre. By moderate, legal was a little bit long. It was, all in all, fairly long.
Ankita found the exam easy. He expects the CLAT cut off to go up to 97 for top NLUs. For him logical reasoning was the toughest section while other sections were relatively easy.

Vikram, a test taker at Noida test centre shared that CLAT PG 2024 was a moderate paper as there were no difficult questions, except for Constitutional Law. He added that Law topics and Contemporary issues had some difficult questions. He shared that Contract, Torts, Criminal Law, International Law, IPR and Jurisprudence were easy. The expected cutoff for CLAT PG 2024 according to him will be around 95.
Akshit appeared for CLAT LLM 2024 exam for PG admissions, and he shared that question paper was easy. There were no difficult questions, and he could attempt maximum questions within the given time.
Another candidate who took CLAT PG 2024 shared that the paper was moderate this year. He shared that there were no unexpected questions.
Prashidi shared that the question paper of CLAT LLM 2024 was of moderate level. The paper was comprehensive and on the exam pattern of CLAT 2024 only.

CLAT 2023 Exam Analysis
The paper analysis of CLAT 2023 for undergraduate and postgraduate courses was released after the CLAT Exam. Test-takers shared exam analysis of CLAT 2023, and the exam was easier than last year with some tricky questions in Quantitative Techniques for UG paper. On the other hand, for CLAT PG 2023, students said it was an easy paper based on core law subjects of the three-year LLB course. The expected cut off for CLAT 2023 was 100 for UG paper, and 80-90 for UG paper.

CLAT paper analysis for the exam was shared as easy with only a few tricky questions in Logical Reasoning, Legal Aptitude and GK (unexpected for some). However, students also shared that the question paper for CLAT 2023 was quite lengthy and two hours duration was not sufficient for them.

Only those aspirants who have been included in the CLAT 2025 invite list will be allowed to appear for CLAT 2025 Counselling. The counselling procedure of CLAT 2025 is conducted through an online centralised system. The counselling is conducted separetly for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The entire process is conducted as per the CLAT 2025 counselling dates that is released by consortium. After every round, the consortium will announce the seat allotment for national law universities (NLUs) that are pariticipating in the admission process.

During CLAT counselling, candidates will be provided the option to choose from three options; i.e. freeze, float and exit. Candidates can understand all options below:
Freeze Option: In case a candidate is happy with the seat alloted to him/her then they can freeze it. With this they won't be allowed to appear in the further rounds of counselling. If a candidate freezes the seat, it means that the candidate is confirming their seat at the allotted National Law University (NLU).
Float Option: If a candidate is not happy with the seat allotted to them and wants to pariticpate in further rounds of counselling they can select the float option. This option mean that candidate is accepting the seat allotted to them but is willing to pariticpate in further rouns of counselling for a better college. Candidate must note that in case they choose the float option and is allotted a seat in the next round then the seat allotted in the previous round will be forfeited.
Exit Option: During the counselling process, if a candidate feels that they don't want to pariticipate further, then they may choose an option to exit. If they choose this option, it means that they are withdrawing from the counselling process and they will not be considered for further round of counselling.

At the moment, there are a total of 24 NLUs that are participating institutes of CLAT 2025. The seat intake for all the courses offered at NLUs has been revised as under:
For the five-year LL.B. - The integrated law programme is offered by all the 24 NLUs, with the seat intake standing at 3,213 seats. For the one-year LL. M. - The programme is offered by 21 NLUs, which have a combined intake of 1,217 seats. In 2021, total 4,009 seats were available, out of which 3,012 seats are available for UG courses and 997 seats are available for PG course admissions. In 2022, CLAT exam was held twice, I. e. on June 19 as CLAT 2022, and on December 18, 2022 as CLAT 2023. However, from 2024 onwards, CLAT exam is to be conducted once in a year only, as confirmed by the exam officials in the latest notification. Earlier, CLAT exam was conducted in May or June, but from 2024 onwards the entrance exam will be conducted in December (of preceding year to the admission year) itself for concluding admissions on time. Therefore, CLAT counselling process will be completed by May of each academic year.

CLAT 2021 analysis shared that the question paper was of easy to moderate but lengthy as per the test-takers. Candidates can download the CLAT question paper. The provisional and final CLAT answer key were out on July 23 and July 27, respectively. CLAT result was declared on July 29 (12:30 AM).
The CLAT exam was conducted by the Consortium of NLUs on July 23 from 2:00-4:00 PM. The CLAT 2021 exam was held similar to last year. However, the NLU Consortium changed the question paper format. Unlike last year, this year candidates had to appear for the law exam in offline mode as a pen-and-paper based test. The CLAT question paper for UG courses contained 150 passage-based objective-type questions of 150 marks. Candidates had to attempt the paper in two hours. There was also negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.
Majority of the students who appeared for the CLAT exam, found the paper lengthy. The overall difficulty level of the exam was easy to moderate.
