MAT exam 2025 will be conducted in February, May, September and December. AIMA announced the MAT exam schedule of February 2025 on December 24, 2024. in February 2024, MAT will be conducted in CBT and PBT modes. Candidates interested in appearing for MAT 2025 can fill up the online form. MAT score is accepted by over 800 B-Schools in India. Admission is based on MAT exam score and GD/PI.

Q:   Can I appear for MAT from home?

A:
Yes, candidates can appear for MAT exam from home. For that, they need to opt for the Internet Based Test or IBT mode option in the MAT application form. In IBT mode, candidates can appear for the test from home or any location by using a laptop or desktop with a functional webcam and internet connection. Given below are some guidelines for MAT IBT: The candidates must have a stable internet connection with proper speed throughout the exam duration A proxy for this is if they can login into their email accounts without difficulty. Upload Speed: Minimum speed should be 512 kbps Browser to use are: Chrome version 63 and above and Firefox version 52 and above Operating system to use are: WindowsOS (Version7 and above) Dot NETframework: MSB requires dot net framework. The minimum supported version is 4.5.1. NETframework Memory: 65MB permanent free space on the default hard drive.

Q:   What are MAT eligibility criteria?

A:

Since MAT is an entrance exam for post graduate level management courses, the minimum eligibility criteria for MAT exam is graduation. Candidate should have completed graduation in full-time or part-time mode in Arts, Commerce or Science from a recognised university. The eligibility criteria for MAT PBT, CBT and IBT are the same. Final year graduation students who will be giving their final exam or awaiting results are also eligible to appear in MAT. There is no minimum score requirement in MAT. Candidates need to have passing marks in graduation.

However, MBA colleges have the eligibility criteria of minimum 50 per cent in graduation (45 per cent for SC/ST/PWD), thus candidates who aspire to pursue MBA need to ensure that they score a minimum of 50 per cent in graduation. SC/ST/PwD candidates need to have a minimum of 45 per cent in their Bachelor's degree programme. There is no age bar or appearing in MAT. Fresh graduates as well as working professionals can apply for MAT.

Q:   Do Iims accept MAT score?

A:
No, IIMs do not accept MAT score for MBA Admission. They only accept CAT score for admission to their MBA/PGP programmes. However, MAT score is accepted by over 700 MBA colleges in India including: Amity University GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research Christ University GITAM Institute of Management JIMS Rohini Jain University Taxila Business School, Jaipur SRM University Birla Institute of Management Technology Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Tezpur University Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India IIFM Bhopal YMCA The MAT exam will be conducted in May 2023 in PBT, IBT and CBT modes and the will be released by the third week of June. Candidates who plan to take admission into an MBA college through MAT can apply for May 2023 phase exam by filling the online application form available at the AIMA-MAT website.

MAT 2025 Registration and Application Process

MAT application forms for CBT and PBT modes are same. The MAT February 2025 form can be filled in online mode only. Check the MAT application process below:

  • Open AIMA MAT website i.e. mat.aima.in
  • Click on Register option
  • Enter basic details and select a password to register
  • Use the OTP received on phone to verify phone number
  • Log in to access the MAT application form 2025
  • Pay the fee amount via debit/credit card or net banking
  • Select exam mode and two test cities (for PBT/CBT)
  • Fill the remaining fields in the form
  • Upload pass port size photo and signature in prescribed format
  • Select five institutes for AIMA to send your MAT score
  • Download the copy of duly filled application form after submission

MAT 2025 Preparation

MAT preparation is possible in six months. Since the difficulty level is low to moderate, candidates can score high with basic preparation of Data Analysis & Data Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills, Intelligence & Critical Reasoning and Language Comprehension. To prepare for MAT 2025, candidates should first decide upon the examination phase (February, May, September and December). Then they should check MAT syllabus and MAT books. Since, MAT is accepted by MBA colleges for Executive MBA, Online MBA, Part-Time MBA and Distance MBA courses too, a good number of working professionals appear for the MAT exam. MAT is also popular among Management aspirants and working professionals as it is an easy exam and one can prepare for it while working as well. It is easier to strike work and study balance in MAT.

Q:   For how long is MAT score valid?

A:

MAT score is valid for admission for the same academic year in which the candidate has taken the exam. For example, MAT 2024 score will be valid for admission for 2024-2026 MBA batch only. If a candidate wishes to drop a year after taking the MAT exam, then they will have to appear for the exam once again next year. They should however check the eligibility or selection criteria to have a clarity of MAT score of which session/phase is valid for admission in which academic year. For example, for 2025 academic session MAT September 2024 and MAT December 2024 scores will be valid for admission to some MBA colleges who have the admission cycle of January-February. Whereas, colleges who conduct admission in March-May accept MAT February exam scores for admission. To simplify, MAT test takers must not try to use their score for admission more than one year after appearing for it. They should appear for it again and use the latest score for admission.
