Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) conducts TISS National Entrance Exam (TISSNET) to give admission to students to its various post-graduation management programmes. The exam is conducted in over 40 centres across the country assessing the aptitude and cognitive ability of the student. This exam also checks general awareness, logical reasoning and verbal aspects for a duration of 100 minutes.
To crack any exam, one should practice a lot. The more mocks one practice the higher chances of getting shortlisted. Once done with materials to learn for the test, mocks can be taken and there is no limit to practice mocks, there are so many websites that provide online mocks for free for different exams. Apart from the online mocks, the concepts can be also learned from videos. Videos of concepts and various levels of exams are helpful to crack aptitude.

General awareness is a broader prospect and one needs to do a lot of reading and online checks to get to know what's happening around the world. There are also various books available in the market which might also help. The cutoffs for the exam also depend on the previous year’s results and also a minimum of 80 marks is required. In order to get feasible marks, we need to make sure we are almost 50 percent in all three sections of the exam.
Common mistakes people make while writing the exam is that they spend too much time in Quantitative Ability and run out of time for other sections. Apart from this, spending too much time on a single question will eat away your time for other questions. Coaching classes will help to an extent but one has to identify the weaker areas and work on it more to do well in the exam. The only way to increase the score is to practice and spend a little more time working on the weak areas I mentioned above.
It is also likely that checking previous years' patterns of questions can also help in determining this year's probable questions. Exams are always tough to handle, but well prepared, confident and determined candidates will get through it easily. Everything said luck will also help if all the others get in place. Compared to other national exams, TISSNET is not tough to crack, unless there is proper preparation aligned to it. Approach to writing an exam is extremely important. Apart from this, a positive mindset and high confidence level are essential aspects of success.
