Karnataka PGCET Result 2024: Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has released Karnataka PGCET 2024 results on the official website, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea. Candidates who took the PGCET 2024 exam can check the results using their PGCET number. KEA has released the PGCET results 2024 in the form of a scorecard. Candidates have to download the Karnataka PGCET 2024 scorecard and keep it for future references. All eligible candidates will be allowed to participate in the Karnataka PGCET counselling process based on their PGCET scores. More than 49,000 seats are set to be filled through the Karnataka PGCET scores.

Q:   When will KEA declare Karnataka PGCET results?

A:

Karnataka PGCET 2023 results were declared on November 22, 2023, for the exam that was conducted in the last week of September. Similarly, in the PGCET 2022 sessions, the result was released on December 29 for the exam that was conducted on November 22.

Therefore, it can be interpreted that candidates could download the Karnataka PGCET results within 30 to 45 days of the exam date. Hard copy of the Karnataka PGCET result or mark sheet is not sent to the candidates. They had to take printouts of the mark sheet and preserve it till the counselling and admission process is over.

Q:   What is the method to prepare the inter-se merit list for Karnataka PGCET?

A:

Inter-se-merit is prepared based on the scores of the candidates in the Karnataka PGCET exam. When two or more candidates secure the same merit position, inter-se-merit is determined with reference to the total aggregate marks obtained by the candidate in the qualifying exam, that is the graduation degree. If the marks still continue to be equal, then in such a case, inter-se-merit is created based on the age of the candidates. Here, the older candidates are given preference over the younger ones.

Karnataka PGCET Merit List 2024

KEA drafts Karnataka PGCET merit lists for MBA, MCA, and MTech courses. KEA considers marks of a candidate in the entrance test to allot a merit position in the Karnataka PGCET merit list. Candidates can find the Karnataka PGCET merit list separately for all courses. KEA will not consider the performance of the candidate in qualifying exam while preparing the PGCET merit list. However, candidates have to score the requisite percentage in the qualifying exam to be eligible for the Karnataka PGCET merit list preparation.

Karnataka PGCET Merit List for GATE Qualified Candidates

Candidates aspiring for Engineering course admission in Karnataka can apply based on the GATE exam. KEA prefers GATE qualified candidates for admissions. Candidates who do not have a valid GATE score must appear for PGCET exam for Engineering admission. Seats that remain vacant after GATE qualified candidates are allotted a seat, KEA will consider PGCET-qualified candidates for merit preparation.

Karnataka PGCET Result 2024: Tie Breaker, Inter-se Merit

There are cases where the merit score of two test-takers are similar. To allot a rank, KEA has laid down the following tie-breaking process. Method for inter-se merit of Karnataka PGCET 2024 is mentioned below:

  • In the case where two or more candidates secure the same merit, then the Karnataka PGCET inter se merit is determined with reference to the total aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying exam.
  • In the case where marks obtained are equal, the inter-se-merit is determined based on the age of the candidates. Older candidates are preferred over younger ones.

There can be cases where the above mentioned criteria cannot be fulfilled as each condition above is identical, in such cases, inter see merit will be determines based on draw of lots

Karnataka PGCET 2024 Result Compilation Process

The PGCET result 2024 is compiled by KEA with both ranks and scores. Aspirants checking the Karnataka PGCET result can find both scores and ranks mentioned in the PGCET Karnataka scorecard. If any candidate doesn't find a rank in the PGCET exam result, they are not eligible to participate in the counselling process.

Difference b/w PGCET Score and PGCET Ranks

  • Karnataka PGCET score/marks refer to the scores of the candidate on the exam. Karnataka PGCET score or marks are evaluated after calculating the number of correct and incorrect responses.

Karnataka PGCET Counselling 2024

Qualified candidates need to appear for Karnataka PGCET counselling. Candidates are called for the counselling process based on their ranks in the Karnataka PGCET exam. Karnataka PGCET 2024 counselling process comprises the following steps:

  1. Karnataka PGCET Counselling Registration: Candidates need to visit the nearest helpline centres for counselling registration and document verification. To register, candidates need to enter their PGCET number. 
  2. Document Verification for Karnataka PGCET Counselling: After registration, candidates need to appear for document verification. During document verification, the original documents of candidates will be verified. Candidates found eligible during the document verification process will only be allowed to take part in the option entry and seat allotment process. 
  3. Generation of a secret key: Once the certificates of candidates are verified, they will be given a secret key. Candidates will require the secret key to register and generate a password at the time of option entry. Besides, using the secret key candidates can log in, change options, save and delete options and print allotment details. 
  4. Display of seat matrix: Before the release of seat allotment, the examination authority releases the seat matrix. The option entry process begins after the seat matrix is published. Seats are allotted to candidates as per the seat matrix. 
  5. Option Entry Process: Candidates need to enter their preferences of course or college based on the available seats. Candidates have the facility to enter as many options as they want. 
  6. Karnataka PGCET Mock Allotment: Before the actual seat allotment is published, the examination authority releases the mock allotment based on the preferences entered by candidates. 
  7. Karnataka PGCET 2024 Seat Allotment: Seats are allotted to candidates based on the merit and priority of options entered by candidates during option entry. 
  8. Payment of admission fee and self-reporting: Candidates allotted seats need to download the challan and pay the admission fees. After payment, candidates will be able to download the admission order. Candidates need to report to the allotted college along with the admission order and copy of the challan.

Only the candidates who have the requisie marks in the quialifying exam, i.e. 50 per cent for unreserved categories and 45 per cent for reserved categories, are eligible for the PGCET counselling process.
