Karnataka PGCET 2025 Highlights

The following table provides an overview of the Karnataka PGCET 2025 exam:

Q:   Are other state students eligible for the Karnataka PGCET?

A:
Yes, other state-domiciled students can also apply for the Karnataka PGCET. There are no restrictions on those from other states pursuing a postgraduate degree in Karnataka through the PGCET. Other state students must meet the minimum eligibility requirements, which are graduation with a score of 50%. It is just that Karnataka students have several advantages, such as: 1. Karnataka Category I students can apply with only 45% of their graduation. 2. Around 90 percent of seats in colleges are available for Karnataka state applicants. 3. SC, ST of other state are treated as General category unlike state categories.

Q:   Do GATE-qualified students need to appear for the Karnataka PGCET?

A:
No, if you have qualified for the GATE exam, you do not need to appear in the Karnataka PGCET to take admission in the M.Tech course. The GATE is a national-level exam, and admission to the majority of engineering colleges in India is based on its score. You can apply for admission to M.Tech programs at prestigious engineering colleges like Manipal Institute of Technology, Ramaiah Institute of Technology, and BMS College of Engineering with a valid GATE score. If you have a high GATE score, you can also be admitted to NITK Surathkal. In case you have not scored well, you can still appear in the Karnataka PGCET by choosing the "Non-GATE scorer" option in the PGCET application form.

Q:   What is the official website to apply for Karnataka PGCET?

A:

The official website to apply for Karnataka PGCET 2023 is cetonline [dot]karnataka [dot]gov [dot]in. The official website is the only online portal via which candidates can apply for the exam. The official link that will host the Karnatka PGCET application form 2023 will be available on the official website only.  Karnataka PGCET registration requires the candidates to provide personal, academic, and communication details. Additionally, candidates have to upload documents and pay the application fee. The last date to apply for Karnataka PGCET 2023 will be also announced with the Karnatka PGCET 2023 schedule.
