1. Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur

Operational since 1949, this private institute is ranked seventh in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranking and fourth in the Business Today ranking (2018) for MBA, and third and fifth ranking for Executive MBA ranking in 2017 and 2015, respectively.

Entrance exam: Exams accepted are XAT and GMAT. Executive fellow aspirants must have a full-time job with five years of work experience.

Courses: PGDM in HR, Business, General, as well as Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) and Executive FPM.

Fee Structure: It is Rs 23 lakh for HR and Business Management, Rs 20 lakh for General Management and Rs 8 lakh for E-FPM.

Placements: The 2017-19 batch saw over 99% placement for BM and over 98% for HRM. Salaries went up to INR 30 LPA with the lowest being Rs 10 LPA.

 

2. Indian Institute of Management, Ranchi

Set up in 2010, IIM-R has added to the legacy of the IIM name. It’s autonomous and public-funded and has been ranked 29th in the NIRF ranking for 2019 making it one of the best MBA colleges in Jharkhand.

Entrance exam: CAT is the only entrance exam for admission to this institute. 

Courses: It offers the flagship PGDM, and exclusive ones in HR and Enterprise, a distance/correspondence Executive-PGDM,  PGDEM and FPM.

Fee Structure: Fee per annum is Rs 9.2 lakh for PGDM and Rs 4 lakh for Executive.

Placements: In 2019, the institute witnessed 100% placement with the average salary package offered was INR 14.9 LPA. The highest package offered was INR 29 LPA.

 

3. Indian Institute of Technology, Dhanbad

IIT-D is another famous MBA college in Jharkhand. It was ranked 81^st for MBA by Business Today in 2018 and 32nd in NIRF in 2019. Since its inauguration in 1977, the institute has performed in a splendid manner every year.

Entrance exam: CAT is the only entrance exam for admission to this institute. 

Courses: It offers MBA in Finance, Systems and Operations, Marketing and HR, and Part-time Executive MBA for three years.

Fee Structure: The total fee is Rs 1.71 lakh for the regular program and Rs 2.87 lakh for Executive.

Placements: It has an average placement percentage of above 85. Salaries can go as high as INR 30 LPA and average of around INR 10-15 LPA.

 

4. Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra (Ranchi)

BIT-Mesra was created with aim to be one of the top MBA colleges in Jharkhand. It's a deemed university with NAAC ‘A’ rating and NIRF 2019 rank between 51 and 75. Since 1955, it has drawn students from various parts of the country, seeking the best education.

Entrance exam: Admission is done is through CAT, MAT, XAT and CMAT.

5. Institute Of Science and Management, Ranchi
