Ashoka Aptitude Test 2025 - The applications for the Ashoka Aptitude Test (AAT) 2025 are open for the third round of the test. Ashoka Aptitude Assessment is a national-level entrance exam conducted by Ashoka University, Sonipat, for admissions to UG programmes at the university. According to the Undergraduate Admissions Calendar published by the university for the August 2025 intake, the test is being conducted in 3 rounds on December 8, 2024, January 25, 2025 and May 4, 2025. The first round of applications ended on November 27, 2024, while applications for the second round ended on January 15, 2025. The third round of AAA 2025 applications will close on April 25, 2025. The university tests the thinking skills and personalities of the potential students through AAT more than the knowledge of their chosen disciplines. What is Ashoka Aptitude Test (AAT)?
The Ashoka Aptitude Assessment is designed in a way that tests students on their problem-solving skills and critical-thinking skills. Through AAT, Ashoka University offers BA/ BSc programmes where students can choose a major from a set of 9 pure or 8 interdisciplinary subjects. In addition, candidates can choose two co-curricular courses and a minor (optional) from various disciplines. Candidates who have taken the SAT/ ACT also need to appear for the Ashoka Aptitude Test (AAT) and the higher score will be evaluated and taken into consideration. In addition to that, the university also accepts CUET scores.
Ashoka Aptitude Test 2025 Admission Process
The stepwise admission process through AAA is mentioned below.
Step 1: Registration
Aspirants must first register on the university's official website with a valid email ID to apply for AAT 2025. The login details for the AAT application form will be emailed to the candidate on the registered email ID. All communications from Ashoka University will be sent to the aspirant’s registered email ID.
Step 2: Fill Out the AAT 2025 Application Form
Once the registrations are done, aspirants will have to fill out the application form for Ashoka University admissions online. The AAT application form is free of cost. Applicants are advised to carefully and thoroughly check the details being filled in. Along with the application form, students must also upload some required documents.
Step 3: Take the AAT
Next up, candidates will be informed about the test dates, timings, etc. on the contact details they have provided during the application process.
The AAT has two parts -
- AAT: The AAT will be conducted in online mode and questions will be based on problem-solving skills (including numerical and spatial reasoning) and crucial thinking skills (including understanding arguments and reasoning using everyday language). The AAT has 40 MCQs.
- On-The-Spot Essay: The examinees will be given 30 more minutes to write a short essay of about 650 words. The essay questions may be based on current affairs, social issues or situations, etc.
Step 4: Appear for Interview Round
The next round of the selection process is a personal interview. Students will be questioned on both academics and personal skills. Ashoka University will conduct panel interviews in order to shortlist aspirants for admissions for the academic year 2025-26. Once applicants go through the interview round they can expect to receive one of the following communications:
- Firm offer of admission
- A conditional offer of admission
- Waitlisted (possibility of an offer at the end of the admissions cycle or earlier)
- Deferred (possibility of an offer after receiving final class XII scores)
- Denial of admission
Step 5: Check Ashoka University Admission Result
Ashoka University will release a list with the names of candidates who will be shortlisted for UG admissions. Candidates whose names appear on the admission list will have to deposit an amount of INR 2,60,000 to confirm their acceptance of admission before the deadline.

Ashoka Aptitude Test 2025 Eligibility Criteria
As per the Ashoka Aptitude Test (AAT) eligibility criteria, candidates can secure admission to Ashoka University UG programmes if they have appeared for the SAT or ACT or Ashoka Aptitude Test (AAT) or have their final Class XII board/ equivalent examination scores. All applicants applying with SAT/ ACT scores need to mention their scores while filling out the AAT application form.
For applicants who are yet to receive their Class XII board examination results, the SAT/ ACT or the Ashoka Aptitude Test (AAT) may be used to make a firm offer of admission. This is especially helpful for the first round of admissions where most applicants may not have their final board examination scores. No applicant will be rejected before receiving the final Class XII board scores. Ashoka University has also started accepting CUET scores.
