Q:   Can a 12th pass apply for RBI Assistant?

Candidates cannot apply for RBI Assistant exam after completing Class 12. To be eligible for the exam, candidates need to be a graduate. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree, with a minimum of 50% marks in any discipline. The age of candidates should be between 20 and 28 years. Candidates born not earlier than 02/09/1995 and not later than 01/09/2003 (both days inclusive) are only eligible to apply. Candidates must fulfill the eligibility conditions inorder to be eligible for the exam.

Q:   Can reserved category candidates apply against unreserved category vacancies for RBI Assistant exam?

A:

Reserved category candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/EWS may apply against unreserved vacancies, if vacancies have not been reserved for their category in their state. However, they must fulfil the eligibility criteria for age and educational qualification at par with unreserved candidates. They will, however, be eligible for fee concession (as applicable),  but will have to pay specified intimation charges.

Q:   I belong to PwBD category. Will I be provided scribe in RBI Assistant exam?

At the time of online/written examination, only those PwBD candidates (who have disability of 40% or more) who have physical limitation in typing/writing including that of speed would be allowed the facility to use the service of a scribe. In all such cases where a scribe is used, the following rules will apply. The candidate will have to arrange his/her own scribe/writer at his/her own cost. Both the candidate as well as the scribe will have to give a suitable undertaking, in the prescribed format with passport size photograph of the scribe at the time of examination.

Q:   Is it is mandatory to appear for Language Proficiency Test for RBI Assistant exam?

LPT is mandatory. No exemption of any sort will be given to any candidate from appearing in LPT,  which will be conducted at respective Regional Offices of the Bank. Final selection will be on the basis of candidate's performance in the online examination (in the order of merit), qualifying in LPT,  Medical fitness, verification of certificates, etc. to the Bank's satisfaction. SBI PO and RBI Assistant are the most sought after banking exams in the country. The participation of candidates is more in SBI PO than RBI Assistant. The number of vacancies are more in SBI PO than in RBI Assistant. SBI PO is conducted for the recruitment of Probationary Officers in the various branches of SBI. RBI Assistant handwritten declaration is a text that candidates need to write while filling the application form. By writing the handwritten declaration, candidates declare that the details entered in the application form are correct and valid. RBI Assistant handwritten declaration should be written on white paper with black ink and in English. The text for RBI Assistant handwritten declaration is given below:

To be eligible for the exam, candidates need to fulfil the eligibility criteria in terms of age, educational qualification, and nationality. Candidates can check below RBI Assistant eligibility criteria.

Candidates must be a citizen of India or,
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or 
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or 
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Appearing in the Exam

What is RBI Assistant Biometric Verification?

Candidates appearing for the online mains exam are required to provide biometric data. The biometric data is captured at the time of entry into the examination hall and stored in the repository as registered data. Candidates qualifying the mains exam are required to undergo the language proficiency test (LPT). The language proficiency test is conducted in the official/local language of the state candidates who have applied. Candidates not proficient in the Official / Local Language are disqualified from the selection process. RBI Assistant Marking Scheme

  • For every correct answer, candidates score one mark

RBI Assistant Language Proficiency Test assesses a candidate's proficiency in reading, writing and speaking the official language of the state for which they are applying. RBI Assistant Local Language Test is conducted in the official language of the state and comprises two components-written and spoken. The written component evaluates a candidate's knowledge of the grammar, vocabulary and comprehension. While, the spoken component evaluates their fluency and pronunciation of the local language test.

RBI Assistant Mains exam pattern is divided into five sections: Test of Reasoning, Test of English Language, Test of Numerical Ability, Test of General Awareness, and Test of Computer Knowledge. There are a total of 200 questions and the total marks of the test are 200. Candidates need to complete the paper within 135 minutes. The duration of the test of Reasoning is 30 minutes, Test of English Language is 30 minutes, Test of Numerical Ability is 30 minutes, Test of General Awareness is 25 minutes and Test of Computer Knowledge is 20 minutes. The marks obtained in the Mains exam are counted for the final merit list. Candidates qualifying the Mains exam are called for language proficiency test. Final selection of candidates is done based on the Mains exam provided they qualify the language proficiency test.
