Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply for RBI Assistant exam. It is important to submit proof of being an Indian citizen. For proof, candidates can provide their Aadhaar Cards/PAN Cards/etc.
i. a citizen of India, or
ii. a subject of Nepal, or
iii. a subject of Bhutan, or
iv. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of
permanently settling in India, or
v. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India
A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination, but the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate is issued to him/her by the Government of India.

Calculation of Percentage For Educational Criteria
The percentage of marks in graduation is calculated by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all the semesters by the maximum marks in all the subjects. The fraction of the percentage will be ignored by the authorities for example if the percentage arrived is 49.99 per cent it will be taken as 50 per cent.

RBI Assistant Eligibility 2024: Guidelines for the Reserved Candidates
RBI Assistant guidelines for reserved categories are given below:
- The candidates belonging to the OBC category but not coming under the non-creamy layer will not be considered OBC category candidates
- Such candidates should indicate their category as UR
