Faculty of Law at AMU (Aligarh Muslim University) is one of the oldest educational departments in our country, especially in the education of law at India. So, Yes the Faculty of Law, AMU is a recognised college that was established in 1883 offering programme courses of BA LLB and LLM. The department of Law here is thereby approved through the Bar Council of India (BCII) which represents and regulates the law bars of India. the faculty is also recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) giving it the ability to provide degrees to the students in the field of law. The AMU faculty of Law s also known popularly as the "mother faculty' due to the fact that it has produced many legal icons of the country. It generally ranks at the position of 5/6 in the list of India's best law colleges.

The Faculty of Law, AMU is located in Uttar Pradesh India. It offers courses like BA LLB (Bachelor's in Arts with Bachelors in Law) and LLM Programme (Master of Laws). If we assess the costs to be incured for studying this courses; it is found that the total fees for the 5-year BALLB Programme at AMU is INR 1,01,6,720 and for the 2-year LLM Programme is INR 4.1 lakhs, The fees amount only includes the course fees and not the fess  need to be paid at the time of admission neither the hostel fees. The application fee for the 2023 BALLB programme is INR 700 without late fees and INR 1000 with late fees. The registration fee for the 2023 BALLB programme is INR 900, with an additional INR 300 late fee. So it can be inferred that the faculty of Law, AMU is pretty costly for students belonging from middle-class families.
