IISER Entrance Exam Application Form 2025 will be released by the examination conducting body in the first week of April 2025, tentatively on the official website. Candidates interested in getting admission to the BS-MS dual degree and BS degree programme need to register by filling out the IAT 2025 application form.

Q:   When will the IISER 2025 entrance exam notification releasing?

The official notification for the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2025 has not yet been released by the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs). However, based on the previous year's schedule, it is expected to be released in the third week of March 2025. The IAT 2025 is the entrance exam for admission to the IISERs, which are premier institutions in India for Science education and research.

The overall eligibility criteria that a candidate need to satisfy before applying for IISER 2025 entrance exam application form is mentioned below:

  1. Applicants must be Indian nationals or PIO or OCI in order to apply through KVPY or JEE Advanced or IAT channels. Candidates who are NOT Indian nationals or PIO or OCI can apply for admission only through the JEE Advanced channel.
  2. Candidates must have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) exam with Science stream in 2024 or 2025 from any board recognised by Council of Boards of School Education in India COBSE.

How to apply for IISER 2025 Entrance Exam

Candidates can fill IISER entrance exam 2025 application form in online mode as per the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: Register at IISER Admission Portal

Primarily, candidates need to register themselves at IISER admission 2025 portal which is https://iiseradmission.in/admission/application.html . For the same, candidates need to sign up using their name (as specified in Class 12 mark sheet), a valid email ID, and a password. After the signup, a verification email will be sent to candidates’ registered email IDs. On successful verification, candidates can log in to their accounts and proceed towards the next step of the application process.

Step 2: Fill IISER Entrance Exam Application Form

Next, candidates can start filling the IISER entrance exam 2025 application form in online mode.

• Personal details such as name, date of birth, religion, category, disability status, guardian’s name, etc.

• Education details such as subject-wise marks secured in Class XII, name of the board, etc.

• Choice for IISER exam centre

• Preference for IISER campus

• Upload photo not larger than 2MB in size in png/ jpg/ BMP format

• Select Yes or No under the Float option

Given below is a list of documents/certificates whose scanned copies are to be uploaded at the time of online application for IAT 2025. The formats of the certificates are given in the Annexure.

  1. Class 10 certificate
  2.  Class 12 (or equivalent examination). 
  3.  If the class 12 (or equivalent) marks sheet is not available now, then you can instead upload a signed declaration form mentioning : DECLARATION BY THE CANDIDATE IN LIEU OF ELIGIBILITY EXAM CERTIFICATE/ MARKSHEET SEE Annexure). Fill up the form, sign it, scan it and then upload. The scanned copies of the actual marks sheet must be uploaded on or before July 7, 2025, failing which you will not be allotted a seat in any of the IISERs.

Q:   What are the category certificate requirements for general candidates while filling up IISER Entrance Exam 2025 application form?

For candidates seeking admission under the GEN-EWS category

1. As per the latest guidelines of the Government of India, GEN-EWS Certificate should have been issued on or after April 01, 2024. If any GEN-EWS candidate fails to submit the GEN-EWS Certificate (issued on or after April 01, 2024) at the time of online application, the candidate has to upload a signed declaration form.

2. The candidate has to upload a fresh Certificate (issued on or after 1 April 2024) on or before July 7, 2025. 

3. If the Certificate is not uploaded by the given date and time, the candidate will not be considered for admission under this category. If qualified, the category will be adjusted accordingly in the Common Rank List.

IISER Entrance Exam 2025 Eligibility Criteria

To meet the eligibility criteria to appear for the IAT exam for BS-MS course admissions, aspirants must satisfy the below-mentioned requirements. 

  • The candidates must have passed the Class XII or equivalent level examination in 2022/ 2023 or 2025 from any board recognized by the Council of Boards of School Education in India COBSE.

  • Candidates must have taken at least three subjects among Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics during their Class XII (or equivalent) examination.

  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD are required to score a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class XII (or equivalent) examination. Candidates belonging to other categories are required to score a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class XII (or equivalent) examination.

NOTE: The students from the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE), from Kashmir division/Winter Zone areas of Jammu division and the U.T. of Ladakh, who had appeared in their Class XII or equivalent level examination in Dec 2021, are also eligible to apply for the IAT 2025, provided they satisfy all the other eligibility criteria.

Nationality

To get eligible for the IISER Entrance Exam Exam, aspirants must abide by the following citizenship rules:

  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  • The candidate can be a PIO. PIO stands for Person of Indian Origin. A PIO is a foreign citizen who has held an Indian passport or has parents, grandparents, or great-grandparents who were born and permanently resident in India. The Government of India launched the PIO Card Scheme in 1999 to make it easier for people to return to India. 

Q:   Can I fill the IISER 2025 application form offline?

A:

No, IISER application forms had to be filled in online mode on the official website of the exam only. Candidates had to visit the official website of IISER 2025 and register first, which generated the credentials, or the username and password. After that, they had to log in and complete the application process by filling out the mandatory fields and paying the requisite application fee online.

Q:   I have done HSC and currently I am doing B.Sc in chemistry. Can I apply for IISER entrance exam?

A:
For BSMS dual degree, you can apply for IISER's up to 1 year of drop. That is, you should have passed 12th in the year of admission or the year before. If you have passed before that, then, unfortunately, you can't apply. For Masters or Ph.D. courses, IISERs don't have their entrance exam.

How to Edit IAT 2025 Application Form

Only those candidates who have submitted the application form and paid the requisite application fee will be eligible to make the changes in the application form. If candidates made any mistake in IAT 2025 registration forms, they can correct it in the correction window. Here we have provided steps to correct the application form:

  • Visit the website of IAT 2025 official website- will be notified soon

  • Click on "Sign In" tab or application form correction link.

  • Then click on the login button & enter user id and password.

  •  After login you can change specific details in IAT 2025 Application form.

  •  Save the changes and take the printout of the form for future uses.

Q:   How will I know that my IISER application form has reached the exam authorities?

A:
Upon successful submission of the IISER online application form along with the exam fee, an automated email and SMS were sent to the registered email ID and mobile number of candidates. In case the application process was not submitted, but the application fee got debited, candidates were advised to contact IISER Exam conducting body or visit the official website for assistance for the application status. Even after three days if candidates did not receive the application confirmation, then they were advised to try and complete the IISER IAT 2023 application form.

Q:   When will be the Portal opens to upload documents and freeze IISER preferences for IISER 2025 Admissions?

A:

The portal for document upload and freezing of IISER preferences for IISER 2025 Admissions can be done in the window period in the month of July 2025, tentatively. After accepting the offer and paying seat acceptance fee, the candidate can exercise two options:

  1. Candidate can FREEZE the seat (they will not participate in further rounds of counselling),
  2. Candidate can FLOAT (they will participate in further rounds of counselling to get their higher preferences). The FLOAT option is activated by default for those who pay the seat acceptance fee. A student who has chosen to FLOAT will be again considered for seat allocation in the next round. If they are eligible to secure a seat in an IISER that is higher in their preference list than the currently accepted one, they will be offered that seat.

The syllabus is same as class 11th and 12th. You can refer to NCERT for your preparation to clear your concepts and to make your fundamentals strong. Paper is based on your concepts only. You can make your important notes which will help you at the time of revision. You can solve as many as MCQs for your practice and complete mock test series to work on your strength and weakness. IAT 2025 Application Form: Editable and Non- Editable Fields

The IAT 2025 modification window allows candidates to make changes to their personal information, educational qualification details, exam centre preferences, and other relevant particulars. The aim is to ensure that all applications are accurate and complete before the final processing stage.

Q:   Does IISER have an age limit?

A:
No, there is no such age limit, but you can not take admission if you passed your school 3 years before the admission date, unless you go through the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced. Students should have qualified in the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced in the year 2022 and should have a rank within 15000 in the common merit list for General and Other Backward Class or in the respective category rank lists General-EWS, Other Backward Class-Non Creamy Layer, Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe, and PwD. Q:   How to fill IISER 2025 entrance exam application form?

Step 1: Registration Visit the official website of IISER. Click on Click Here to Apply button. Candidates will have to register using a valid Email-ID. Create a password of 8 to 16 characters with at least one capital letter, special character and numeric digit. At last, candidates will have to enter their first and last name and submit it. A verification link will be send to candidates registered Email-ID. Step 2: Fill Application Form & Upload Images After verification of email, candidate will have to login the portal using their ID and password. Q:   Is it necessary to attend both bio and math in IISER aptitude test? I don't have math in my class 12.

A:
No, it's not compulsory, but you will be asked questions from all four subjects in the exam. Each subject has 45 marks in total, i.e., total marks of the test is 180 out of which around 105 marks are safe for you to get your first preference. But it's better to prepare subject you don't have (in this case Maths, as there are some basic questions which you can do with little practice).

Q:   Does the passport-sized photograph have to be colored or black and white while uploading it in IISER 2025 application form?

A:

Candidates were advised to upload a scanned copy of their passport-size photograph which should be either coloured or black and white. The photograph should be in white background and 80 per cent face (without mask) should be visible. The image file should have been in JPG or JPEG format and within 200 KB dimension.
