Aliah University, an Institute with Great Potential to be One of the Best in the Country.
Placements: Aliah University is generally considered a Technical University where almost all branches of STEM Science are also taught at both the graduate and postgraduate levels. They also offer various Ph.D. programs in several subjects. Regarding placements, the institute has a good record too. They have a dedicated placement cell for students in both engineering and STEM Science fields. Generally, the percent of students placed every year is quite impressive. Students are placed in many reputed multinational as well as PAN companies like Infosys, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, Cognizant, etc.
Infrastructure: The hostel is a standout feature of the institute. They have separate hostels for boys and girls on campus. Both of the hostels are huge, with the boys' hostel being 21 floors and the girls' having 17 floors. The rooms are spacious and well-maintained, with several elevators for easy going up and down. Another standout feature of the institute is its library. They have a dedicated building for the library with a huge collection of books for all fields. Wi-Fi is available centrally in the library, and Wi-Fi is also available in the main building too. Other than these, they also have medical facilities available on campus for any kind of emergencies, ground areas for playing cricket, football, badminton, volleyball, and various other sports, and a canteen.
Faculty: The institute has a good reputation for having great faculty. The faculty members are highly qualified and knowledgeable in their respective subjects. They teach in a very innovative way for the students, which is very helpful for students of all stature, starting from the average ones to the very highly qualified ones. The curriculum they follow to teach the students is prepared, keeping in mind the benefit of the students. It is extremely relevant for the current times, as it helps the students to be industry-ready. The semester exams are considered to be on the tougher side, but with proper preparation and guidance from the faculty members, one can easily get a good percentage.
Other: I chose this course because I definitely wanted to study cosmology and astrophysics. That’s what made me choose Physics. The best thing about this course is that I get to know about the real-world implications of Physics. We get to use several instruments that help to improve our day-to-day lives, although we don't understand them, their implications in our daily life definitely help create a better future. One thing that I wish could be improved in my course is that in the laboratories, we should get more instruments as the number of instruments available and the number of students attending the laboratories is quite high. Regarding scholarships, there are various kinds of scholarships available for all the students. That is extremely helpful for the students to continue their academic career. The campus surroundings are really peaceful and full of greenery, and the amount of pollution is quite low around the campus. And especially, the students in the campus are really well-behaved. They try to keep the campus cleaner and greener.

Good Infrastructure and hostel facilities, placement record is also good.
Placements: 90% of students are placed from the engineering department. The highest package is 50 LPA, and the average package is 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Amazon, TCS, IBM, Infosys, etc. Top roles offered are software engineer and system engineer. Almost 90 percent of students got internships during the 7th semester at top companies like Physics Wallah.
Infrastructure: The department has 4 computer labs, a networking lab, and one hardware lab with full AC. Classrooms are good, clean, and comfortable to sit in, and the board is also good. The hostels are top-level, like a 3-star hotel. One 20-floor building is for boys, and one 14-floor building is for girls. Canteen facilities are available in our hostel. Medical facilities are also good, and sports facilities are also good.
Faculty: The faculty is very student-oriented, and their teaching quality is superb. They are always available for students. This course makes us industry-ready. Semester exams are neither very difficult nor very easy; if you have good knowledge about the subject, then you can definitely get full marks.
Other: I chose this course because I love coding. Every year, the department organizes fresher farewells and Iftars. The campus is natural, and the culture is too good. It is a ragging-free campus; seniors are very friendly. The university provides a 60,000 scholarship per year.

Absolutely Dissatisfied Because of Placements, but Infrastructure and Campus are Beautiful
Placements: About 60% of the 2024 batch were placed in my course. The highest package was 10.7 LPA, the lowest was around 2.5 LPA, whereas the average package offered in my course was 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Wipro, Cognizant, TCS, and Rashmi Group. About 30% of students got internships from the 3rd or 4th year onwards in Rashmi Group and TCS. We are taught many computer-based subjects, which help in top roles.
Infrastructure: The facilities are good except for some of them. The overall infrastructure of our course and hostel is average. Wi-Fi is not available in classrooms or the hostel; it is only available in seminar halls and official rooms. Labs are not good enough; they are without AC, and some of them don’t even have enough chairs to sit. Our classrooms are big in space, but they are normal classrooms without AC and smart boards. The library is nice and well-maintained, but again, AC is not in the library. The quality of food is not that bad, but the canteen has nice food. Our college has medical facilities too. In Aliah University, there are physical sports like cricket or football, but no e-games.
Faculty: Only a few teachers are helpful, although they are well-qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is below average. This course is curriculum relevant, and only a few subjects are irrelevant. Somehow, the curriculum makes a student industry-ready, but not in all aspects. Our semester exams are quite tough, and the passing percentage is 35%.
Other: I chose this course because I was a passionate computer student. The best thing about our course is that most of the subjects are computer-based. I wish some of the irrelevant subjects were removed and teachers started teaching students according to the need of the industry; then it would be much better. We have very few events and fests, like once in 6 months. The campus crowd is good. The surroundings of the campus are mostly of companies like TCS and Wipro. We get a scholarship of 60,000 every year.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of placement, but really good in value for money
Placements: About 70% of students were placed in my course. The highest and lowest average package offered was 12 LPA and 3 LPA respectively l, and the average package was about 4.5 LPA. Amazon, Cognizant and TCS are some of the top recruiting companies. About 25% of students were placed in top companies
Infrastructure: Classrooms doesn't have ac or smart board. Library doesn't have ac but infrastructure is good. Labs also doesn't have any action, and infrastructure is not that well. The quality of food available in hostel is not that bad. Whereas the canteen's food is nice. Sports and games like cricket and football are available, but there is no e-games available.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified but they are not helpful and can't deliver their knowledge effectively. The curriculum is mostly irrelevant in initial years but relevant in final years. But that relevancy is not according to industry. The semester exams are quite difficult, but studying a month before exams , one can easily pass. The passing percentage is 35%.
Other: I chose this course because it is the most demanding. Our course have the best placements. The things that can be better is to modify the curriculum according to industry. The fees is about 70000 for the whole course. There is very less fests occurring in college. We get about 60000 per year as scholarship.

Aliah: a dream of nightmares.
Placements: Here, placements are variable and not to the point. If a student is placed through campus, the payout is not so good, and the work pressure is inadequate. I strongly recommend developing skills on your own so that you might get the amount you want to sustain.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is poor; it's just a huge campus that is not yet finished. The campus might look great from outside the gate, but it has potential structural risks, as most of the classrooms and hallways are not yet furnished. You may also find roofs that are coming apart in the building, and no games are played on the campus.
Faculty: The teachers here are awful and pathetic. It seems like you are more knowledgeable than the teacher himself. Although the university is English medium, the teachers here don't have a good command of the language. Even a class 1 student speaks better than them.
Other: If you are very poor, then only come to this college. I strongly suggest doing B.Sc. instead of B.Tech in this college.

The college is overall value for money, placements are average.
Placements: About 50–60% of students from the CSE batch are placed every year. The head of placement council is not very supportive. The highest package for the year 2024 was around 11 LPA, and the lowest was around 2.4 LPA. Companies like TCS, Wipro, and cognizant come to recruit. About 4 to 5 students only got internships.
Infrastructure: The wifi is only available in the main building and the library. The classrooms are big and comfortable and have projectors, but they are not air conditioned. The labs are good for almost all subjects. The library has some computers, and most of the books are available there. The hostel rooms are okay, and the food is not bad in the mess hall, but the food is awesome in the canteen. There is a medical facility available in case of an emergency. The only sports that are played at the university are cricket and football, and there are no online gaming tournaments.
Faculty: The teachers at this college are mostly Bengali and even some of them can't speak English very well. However, they are highly qualified and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, their teaching skills are not that great. The curriculum is almost irrelevant, especially during the first two years of the B.Tech (CSE) program. There is no computer-related subject during the first two years, and there is a subject called "Indian Constitution." On the plus side, the semester exams are at a good level, and the passing percentage is 35%.
Other: I chose CSE because it is a highly sought-after course these days. The best thing about this course is that we get to learn a variety of subjects and get a higher salary package than other branches. However, the curriculum could be improved, and more extracurricular activities could be added to make it less like school. There are no events in our college, and fests occur rarely (once a year). The campus crowd is nice, and we get a yearly scholarship of Rs. 60k.
