Q:   How successful is the placement cell in securing jobs for B.Sc. students at Aligarh Muslim University?

A:
{Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

Success Rate of Placement Cell in Securing Jobs for B.Sc. Students

Based on the statements provided by students and alumni, here's a summary of the success rate of the placement cell in securing jobs for B.Sc. students:

* Limited Placements: Most students reported that there were limited placements available for B.Sc. students. Some stated that only a handful of students got placed, while others had to opt for higher education or pursue alternative career paths.
* No Placement Committee: One student mentioned that there was no dedicated placement committee for their branch, which might contribute to the lack of placements.
* Only Top Organizations Visit Campus: Another student noted that only a few top organizations visit the campus for placements, leaving fewer options for B.Sc. students.
* Students Need to Look Out for Opportunities Themselves: As a result, students often need to seek out placement opportunities themselves, without much assistance from the institution.

Overall, it appears that the placement cell faces challenges in securing jobs for B.Sc. students, likely due to limited resources and lack of dedicated effort. While some students managed to secure placements, it seems that the majority had to rely on other means to achieve their career goals.

The culture of AMU is really good and Aligarh is the city of Tehzeeb .
Placements: Around 85% of students were placed last year. The highest package was 10 LPA and the lowest package was 3 LPA. A B.Sc. in Statistics can lead to careers in banking, finance, and insurance. Some career options include statistician, data analyst, statistical researcher, and risk analyst. Many students got internships as well.
Infrastructure: AMU provides plenty of areas for developing abilities and exploring new ones, such as football, volleyball, skating, and tennis playgrounds. There are well-furnished laboratories, including science, engineering, technology, and computer labs. There is also a nicely curated auditorium and ATMs for banking facilities. An interesting fact about AMU is that it has Asia's biggest library.
Faculty: The faculty for my course is amazing; the teaching quality of the professors is superb. As we all know, data science is a growing field and will boom in the future. Sessional exams are not difficult if one has proper knowledge and is active in class; then they can score well. I don't know about semester exams because I haven't experienced them yet.
Other: Students with a Bachelor's in Statistics are eligible to apply for various jobs in banking, IT, and quality control. They can even specialize in actuarial science and join various financial and share trading companies. Events and fests happen in college, and one popular and big event is Sir Syed Day. The college also provides extracurricular activities and scholarships.

Aligarh Muslim University is one of the 10 best central universities in India.
Placements: Aligarh Muslim University is a central government university. Since most of the students do not want to get the job after graduation, placement after pursuing graduation in B.Sc. is lower than B.Tech. But every year many companies come here for giving internships, which are Publicize Sapient, Ramboll India, etc.
Infrastructure: Aligarh Muslim University was established in 1920 as a central university. It has a green and clean campus. India's largest university library is found in this university named Maulana Azad Library. There is WiFi available every time. The labs and classrooms are modern and smart.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable, and the teaching quality is the best. It has experienced professors who know how to teach and to learn their students. The difficulty level of the semester exams is average but it creates lengthy question papers and a passing percentage of 33%.

Good place to study not the best.
Placements: I have got placement in a very standard company I will not say that it has very good placement. The heightest was offered was 6LPA and the lowest was 3LPA. I have been offered as geologist, metrologist, oceangrapher, sismologist. Over all it a 3 star placement.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very nice all facility are provided but it feels like old the building are old which give it a very good vibe the mess and canteen is good it provide many types food from dal chawal to biryani and even street food also which taste very nice.
Faculty: Some of the teacher were not so helpful and I would say not even qualified to teach but on the other hand there are teachers who teaches like a pro the semester exams are difficult but not so difficult that on some will pass around 80% people passes .

The course is good but the faculty does not provide placements to the students.
Placements: Although everyone gets campus placement in this university, only a few students who get top rank get a good package. An internship is given to everyone, whether they pass from the first division or not, and if we talk about the department of geology, then only GSI is released from our department, and there is no campus placement only in our department. But it is easy to get a job in the private sector with the name of Aligarh Muslim University, but the package seems very less. In the beginning, the package costs from 3 lakh to 5 lakh. The overall course is good but placement has to be taken out of campus in this course.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure building is well built, which is the best of all the departments in Aligarh Muslim University, and the hostels—some buildings are good and some are old. They are good for aesthetic vibes but not that good for living; the hostel food is without taste, which is the case with all the government university hostels.
Faculty: All the teachers are well qualified and they leave no stone unturned in teaching. They also remain supportive with the students and help in getting the students' projects and papers published, which is very good for the academics of the students. Overall, the subjects are good. But there is no campus placement so students have to go out of campus placement to find it and they do not get a good package either.
Other: The best thing about this course is that it is not taught much in India and there would hardly be 10 departments in India or even less than that.

Our university has really good infrastructure with greenery and very supportive facilities.
Placements: I think very few students got placed from any disciplinary course at our university. Our university's TPO is reaching out to average companies, which has resulted in many students not applying for jobs through the TPO. This needs improvement.
Infrastructure: Our university provides Wi-Fi for every student and offers better beds, study tables, good quality chairs, and cupboards for the students. Every hall has a beautiful mosque for prayer and a dining hall with low charges for good quality food, which includes three meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). Every residential hall has parks and grounds for playing sports. Our university accommodates many students in the hostels due to its capacity, but we need more hostels because of the increasing student population. Many students receive hostel facilities only after one year or more.
Faculty: All the teachers are well-qualified and very supportive of the students. They are knowledgeable in their fields. We have a great professor in our department named Erfan Mondal, who is a prominent researcher in his field and received a national award for his work in Bundelkhand. Our teachers encourage students to study independently and guide us in clearing our exams. Semesters are not difficult; if you study for 2-3 hours daily, you will achieve good marks.

Life at AMU through my eyes
Placements: Well, since I opted for a B.Sc. course, you do not get much placement. Instead of focusing on placements, the institute emphasizes increasing your passion for the subject. After that, you may become a professor, researcher, or teacher, depending on your choice, but placement opportunities in B.Sc. are almost negligible.
Infrastructure: You will get a girls' campus if you are opting for the B.Sc. course at AMU, so do not expect gender diversity. The buildings are quite old, and there are issues with electricity and water. However, you will find campus amenities such as shops, gyms, libraries, a swimming pool, and a sports club. Many festivals are organized from time to time, so there's plenty to explore.
Faculty: The faculty is well-experienced and educated, highly knowledgeable, and very helpful in guiding you for your future studies or plans. It is important to maintain a healthy relationship with them and be active in class to make the most of the opportunities available.
Other: There are a lot of scholarships available, so you can check them out.

Q:   How is the overall infrastructure of Aligarh Muslim University?

A:
{Source: B.Sc. students & alumni]

Aligarh Muslim University has a restrictive campus life for girls, with limited hours for going out and strict attendance policies. However, the university provides multiple sports facilities and good quality mess food. The academic schedule is moderate with around 5-15 lectures per week, and there are well-stocked research and reading resources available. The campus is secure with guards and CCTV cameras present everywhere, but outsiders cannot enter the campus without permission. The college takes ragging seriously and can rusticate students if they are found guilty. Overall, the university provides a supportive environment for students.

Based on the reviews provided, the overall infrastructure of the college is adequate and well-maintained. The faculty is well-equipped with modern laboratories and instruments and the department provides a seminar library and Wi-Fi-enabled campus. The hostel facilities are good, with clean and comfortable living spaces and the dining facility serves nutritious food at an affordable price. Additionally, the college offers a range of extracurricular activities such as sports and medical facilities.
