Review of Central University of Jammu .
Placements: Well about placement I can't say anything because in our department we are the most senior, as this course was introduced for the first time here. So if I see other departments, yes, placements are provided to deserving students. And yes, there is one separate department for career placement, where teachers approach students.
Infrastructure: Yes, Wi-Fi and infrastructure are there but yes, our university is in the stage of development so of course there is some more development needed. But talking about Wi-Fi, labs, classroom and libraries, they are there. And I'm residing in a hostel, and I would personally say that this is the best mess. I don't think any hostel mess provides this type of food quality. Every Saturday, medical facilities are provided for students and even a clinical psychologist is there.
Faculty: The faculty of the Economics Department is very good as compared to other departments. And the teachers are very understanding and cooperative with students; they even help each and every student solve their problems. The exam process is based on two phases: first, mid-semester exams and second, final exams. The topic is also given to each and every student to prepare on and present it through a PPT, through which students are also able to overcome the stage fear. And yes, depending on the teacher, the exam is also based on.
Other: The course is overall very good and it is only the teachers who make it very good. And yes, 2 events are organized per year: one sports competition in October and one UDAAN fest in February.

Satisfied with the faculty but the infrastructure is under construction.
Placements: I am currently studying in the 2nd year of this course; we are the first batch and there are no seniors for us in this course. Until now, we didn't need any internships. But from other departments, many students are getting placed. And the package can be up to 7 to 8 lacs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the university is nice and our classrooms are good too. We have access to Wi-Fi at all times. There is exactly no lab for economics and the library is also available and has a collection of somewhere around 20,000 books. The hostel is not exactly on campus but at a different place. But the food quality is great. The menu can be changed according to the popular opinion of students. The menu is also changed every year.
Faculty: The teachers of our department are good too. They do help whenever necessary. The head of our department is a great person. Most of the professors are Ph.D. qualified. I have done just a year yet and as per that curriculum, it's not exactly industry-ready. But I hope so in the future. Exams are not too difficult but at a mediocre level.
Other: I chose this course because I like to study economics and feel like this has scope in the future. We have our university fest called Udaan and a sports fest called Combatica. The university is situated in rural areas so the surroundings are all green. Though there is this problem of transportation.

Q:   Is Central University of Jammu Tier 1 or Tier 2?

    A:

In India, there is no clear definition or consensus about the tier structure for universities. But Central University of Jammu would probably be regarded as Tier 2 based on a variety of sources and rankings.

The general knowledge of the tier system is broken down as follows:

Tier 1: These generally comprise a few National Institutes of Technology (NITs), a few Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs), a few well-known central institutions with a solid track record in academics and research, and the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

Tier 2: This more inclusive group may comprise some National Institutes of Technology (NITs), some state institutions, some private universities, and some central universities.

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

    A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.
