Review of Assam University, Silchar.
Placements: The integrated course in computer science is good, but maybe because of the campus's location and fewer students, companies do not visit. So there is no scope of on-campus placements as far as my experience. However, there are scopes of appearing in some off-campus placements and some faculty members provide placement assistance.
Infrastructure: The campus is vast and the most peaceful place in which one can be. It feels more than home. There is a huge central library, gym centre, health centre, football ground, basketball ground, a good number of student hostels, foreign students hostel, canteens for each department, free Wi-Fi, and many more on campus. Campus life is awesome.
Faculty: Academics are good but could be better. Exams do not take place on time (post covid scenario). Strikes go on every now or then. It takes at least three to four months for the results to be published. The overall evaluation is fair.
Other: Overall, the university is awesome. There is no regret about taking admission here. There is very good connectivity because of the buses. Fests take place every year. Events take place every other day. The place is full of biodiversity.

This university is a great place, and it just needs discipline.
Placements: Around 40% of students are placed, and the seating capacity is 70. The companies approaching students for internships are nil. Rather students have to find internships in the market. The role offered in our course is that it makes students appear to be web developers or in the IT sector.
Infrastructure: This university campus life is very good. The ambiance of that place is fine, but it could de better. It has a huge library, but this university portal is good, and it creates issues during form fillup and payments. The Wi-Fi is limited to departments, and it is not enabled on the whole campus.
Faculty: Professors are good in this college. But the course needs updating because it still teaches students old courses which is not helpful in the practical world. The course needs new topics, along with it needs attention to the washrooms.
Other: Life at the campus is full of independence, there is no one to tell anything. This university is full of biodiversity. Our university is far from the main town but it is filled with peace. There is no pollution, and there are less vehicles. There is a central library, and it is huge. Students get a variety of books and journals. Apart from that, there are a good number of hostels for students, a gym center, health center, basketball ground, football ground, and three auditoriums for functions are also available. Almost every day or the other there will be some event going around. There is a park and garden where students can relax. Annual fests are conducted in February-March. There is also a student union to represent the student body. Elections are held every year as well. Academic-wise, as a whole it is good but it could be much better than what it is. Examinations do not take place on time. Talking about result declaration, it takes a minimum of 3-4 months to get the result. On-campus placements are rare, not saying companies do not come but the placements are mostly for engineering and management students. The other departments do not get placements. Overall it is a good place to enjoy college life, but academic-wise, students have to be sincere and do hard work on their own to make a successful career.

Nice for enjoying and exploring university life.
Placements: There are very less campus placements. The average salary package offered is about 4.5 LPA. Companies like Infosys and some others come to recruit students Every student gets a job but many students get off-campus placements. Some get on-campus placements.
Infrastructure: There is free Wi-Fi across the campus area. The building of my department is quite good but comparatively smaller than other departments. There are 5 boys' hostels and 6 girls' hostels located within the campus. There are two messes and free Wi-Fi the whole time.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified but some teachers have a bit less patience. The course is good. The curriculum is relevant and makes students industry-ready. The end-semester exams are neither easy nor hard. Following the class notes is enough to get marks in exams.
Other: I chose this course because I like computer science. This course is fully focused on enhancing the programming knowledge of students. Our college conducts fests also like Auskriti a cultural fest, a science fest, Aikiya an arts fest, and a tech fest for engineering students. It conducts events like AUSlympics a sports event, etc.

Not satisfied with the college.
Placements: Only a limited number of companies offer placements and internships, and it is quite limited for students. For example, only 50% of the seats are offered in a batch of 100. So one needs to compete a lot to secure them, and the rest are left with no offers. Accenture, Capgemini, etc., visit the campus.
Infrastructure: There is a practical laboratory with computers present, and it is sufficient; each student gets a chance to practice. Additionally, there is a large library that has vast collections of books and journals relevant to the computer science course.
Faculty: Only a handful of faculty members conduct enjoyable classes, as their teaching style is quite nice, and students find them interesting. Meanwhile, the rest are undoubtedly knowledgeable, but their teaching style is very old-fashioned, with a focus on theory only.

Basic facilities and opportunities.
Placements: The placement is not that great, and if you want to get good placement, depending on the campus drive will take you nowhere. Generally, students try off-campus placement by applying to different companies online to get good offers and salaries.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is okay; there is a basic classroom design that is not that great, and I didn't enjoy quite a lot of the hostel area. Most of the time, there are a lot of issues with electricity and washing machines, and to get things right, it takes days.
Faculty: The faculty members are good; they are approachable and helpful and try to be there for the students, but the curriculum is not that great; it is not updated quite frequently with industry standards. It is important to have that industry connection to guide better.
