DIT : one of the best engineering colleges in terms of ROI and placements.
Placements: The best ROI in Dehradun. Decent placements with the highest package of 44 LPA and a 6-7 LPA average! Top recruiting companies like Juspay, Infosys, and IBM for software engineer roles!
Infrastructure: Classrooms and labs are well-equipped with facilities, and Wi-Fi is available in the library and labs with AC rooms! The quality of the hostel is nice, with good infrastructure and furniture with proper lighting. Medical facilities are also good in case of an emergency! Food is decent in the mess! There is a rooftop with a cafeteria here!
Faculty: Teachers are experienced and helpful! Some of them are highly qualified from renowned institutions like IITs/NITs. The course curriculum is more or less the same as in other engineering colleges. Exams are quite challenging; one has to go through the syllabus thoroughly.

Strong Academic Infrastructure but Poor Placements and Hostel/Mess facilities.
Placements: Talking about the 2023 pass-out batch, honestly only 50-60% of students were placed. The highest package was around 44 LPA by Harness and the lowest were among the Sales placements roughly around 3-4 LPA. Top recruiting companies for my course are Oracle, Accenture, Encryption Consulting LLC, Juspay, etc. No, there will be no one placed for internships; it’s just the placements. Roles - Junior SDE, Associate Sales Manager, etc.
Infrastructure: Academic Facilities Wi-Fi - Entire campus has Wi-Fi, but the speed is very slow. Labs - Well-equipped computer labs with modern hardware and software. Classrooms - Smart classrooms with projectors in each of them. Library - Vast collection of books, journals, learning aids, etc. Hostel and Mess Hostel - Clean, well-maintained rooms. Mess - Decent food, quality satisfactory.
Faculty: Most teachers are highly qualified, with many holding PhDs from DIT itself, and many are pursuing further studies from here only. The course curriculum is generally old, not matching current technology trends. Semester exams are moderately challenging, with a mix of theoretical and practical problems.

Genuine review of DIT University, Dehradun.
Placements: 50% placement rate is there. The highest package was around 40 LPA. The lowest was around 2–4 LPA. The companies are Paloalto, TCS and HCL. The internship facility is not good here and too many internships are there. You pay and you get an internship. The mass recruitment of students is there.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. The full campus has Wi-Fi facility, classrooms are basic without air conditioning, and the library is good with all the facilities like Wi-Fi, PCs, books, etc. The hostel's facilities are decent, as are the rooms. But mess quality is not good.
Faculty: Faculty members are mostly from IIT, IIIT, and NIT. Some faculty members are good enough and some just do the formality. Yes course curriculum is relevant students all over Skills are developed by all the subjects. The difficulty level of exams is easy to moderate. There are two exams per semester: one is midsem and other is endsem. 80% of the students pass.

If you’re someone looking for a mix of good education and fun campus life, it's a solid choice.
Placements: Here's the real talk: placements at DIT are decent to good. If you study well, you can get placed. Big companies like Wipro, Infosys, TCS, and even some international firms come for campus drives. Package-wise, it's decent. The highest placements can go up to 25-30 LPA for top students, but the average package is around 5-6 LPA. The placement percentage is around 85%, and there are enough internship opportunities.
Infrastructure: Let's start with the campus. It's spread across 21 acres; honestly, it's a beautiful place to study. The campus is in the mid of the mountains. You have got green lawns, clean surroundings, and enough space to chill between classes. The infrastructure is a bit modern too—whether classes, labs, or the library. Plus, the hostels aren't that bad at all. They are clean, decently spacious, and come with the basic amenities you'd expect. Medical facilities are great here. Sports facilities are great too; it has basketball, badminton courts, and a cricket ground. And in indoor games, almost everything. The canteen food is something I would say is below average.
Faculty: DIT University is known for its engineering and management courses, but there’s a lot more on offer. The B.Tech programs are probably the most popular, with many students flocking here for Computer Science and IT. The curriculum stays updated, and there’s a strong focus on practical learning. The faculty is pretty solid for the most part. Some are brilliant and really invested in teaching, while a few, like in any college, might leave you a bit underwhelmed. But overall, if you're into what you're studying, you’ll find good mentors here. Semester exams are moderate here. The passing percentage is around 35%.
Other: I chose this course because I always had an interest in coding. It would be great if DIT organized more hackathons. Life at DIT isn’t just about academics. The university hosts plenty of fests, tech events, and cultural programs. The main annual fest, Youthopia, is a huge hit—with music, dance, and celebrity performances. If you're into sports, there's a lot to keep you busy too, with facilities for football, basketball, cricket, and more. One of the best things about DIT is its location. Dehradun is a beautiful city with pleasant weather, and the campus is close to Mussoorie. Weekend trips to the hills are a norm here, and it’s the perfect way to unwind after a hectic week.

Good quality education but slow management.
Placements: The college provides placements on campus for the students and invites multiple companies to the college. The placement rates have declined over the past few years. The highest placement of the batch 2023–24 has been about 54 LPA, with more than 1200 offers and 250+ recruiters. Last year, the placement rate was 95%. The college does not provide many opportunities for internships; therefore, students will have to search for such opportunities outside the campus.
Infrastructure: The college provides hostel facilities for the students on campus. There are 4 hostels for boys called Bhabha, Sarabhai, Bose, and Raman, and 1 hostel for girls called Kasturba. The hostel provides all necessary facilities. There are single rooms and shared rooms. The first-year students are not allotted single rooms. There are separate gyms provided in the girls and boys hostel areas, along with a mess. The food quality is average and degrades as the semester continues. One major issue for the hostellers, especially for the girls, is the timing of the hostels. The girls are not allowed to roam outside the hostel area after 7 p.m., which is a little too restrictive. But the overall environment of the college is safe.
Faculty: The college provides good-quality education and the curriculum is relevant to the industry. There are good faculty members who are highly qualified and experienced and do resolve student doubts and issues; however, there are some faculty members who aren't so helpful in terms of teaching or marking scheme. In the first year, the students are taught basic subjects like engineering mathematics, physics, graphics, data structures, programming for Problem Solving, Professional Communication, Literature, etc. In the second year, students are taught more relevant subjects like Operation System, DBMS, Introduction to Java, Advanced Java, etc. The college provides specialization in specific topics as well.
Other: The college provides good-quality education but does not provide many internship opportunities for the students. There isn't much awareness regarding this issue. Also, there aren't many extracurricular activities or festivals other than the annual ones. Also, the management is too slow and you'll have to make multiple appointments even to resolve a small issue .

Pros:

* Good placements: Almost 50% of students were placed, with packages ranging from INR2.5 LPA to INR10 LPA. Renowned companies like Oracle, Amazon, Microsoft, and Infosys recruited students.
* Supportive faculty: Faculty members are knowledgeable, experienced, and willing to help students.

However, students should be aware of the potential challenges regarding low pass percentages and limited attendance support.
