Absolutely satisfied with the campus and faculty. There are 100% placements and good infrastructure.

Placements: I am a student of this college, and I assure you that the college provides 100% placements. Good companies visit the college to conduct placements. The companies visiting the college select many students. One of the top companies like Mediterranean Shipping and Maersk visit the college.

A stepping stone for marine life.

Placements: The placement is available but waiting period for the ship is about more than 2 years that is the only problem, but after one or two years, everyone will get the ship in the executive ship management company. There is a chance to get the ship in British Petroleum also where they also give placement for toppers.

One of the best academy in India, for mariners.

Placements: The college is good for the placements. Mostly, the students who are doing Diploma in nautical science are already paced by the company, and the company itself give the institution for the course but must have to pass the final exams in order not to lose his/his job.

IMI college looks small in infrastructure. placement are 70% to 80%. in 2015 faulty was dissatisfied

Placements: IMI is only a single college in North India who conduct marine engineering. It is the best option for those who are near to Delhi NCR. In my batch 40 students are there out of 30 students are placed, rest are all got placement by it took time. My senior batches around 70% got campus placement, and junior batches got 100%. This college growth year by year in term of placements. IMI collaborate with some of the biggest companies like. MEARSK LINE M.Sc. FLEET MANAGEMENT. PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL LINE ...

The perfect college for the field of logistics and shipping.

Placements: Around 90% of the students got placed last year. The salary offered is around Rs. 18,000-35,000 at the start. The companies like NYK, Team Global, Robinsons, Trans Asia, Kunenagal, etc. come for placements. Every student gets an internship from the college and stipend depends on the company we go to.

It is the best college, but only for studious and geeks.

Placements: There was 100% placement as the company, which own this college, itself provides placements. Salary offered is same for all students, and so there is no need to worry about that. It starts from 12,000 US dollars and increases after every year. This college does not allow other companies to visit the campus for placement. No internship is available as we are directly given training for 6 months after our college degree.

Perfect institute for mariners because of perfect staff and well-maintained classrooms, etc.

Placements: In this good institute of the merchant navy, every student gets sponsored by different foreign companies as like Dynacom Tankers from Greece, Pacific International Lines from Singapore and much more. Our seniors get 100% results. Companies take interviews in which they ask questions from physics, maths, general knowledge and mostly, every student gets sponsored. Companies which come here mostly have a stipend ranging from 500$ to 1200$.

The best college for nautical science

Placements: The placement is good and the higher salary at the time of joining was 500$-1000$. Mainly ranked students get placements first. Many big companies like Fleet Solas and many more companies visit every year for placements. Approx 5 out of 10 students got the placement without paying any money for placements.

It is confirmed that you will be placed on a ship but the joining time is around 7-8 months.

Placements: There is a company sponsorship of executive ship management (ESM). 100% placements are there on completing the course. British Petroleum does the recruitment if you are eligible but ESM is confirmed. If you have a craze for the merchant navy, then this institute is good. The 1-year GME course is a short course to absorb the knowledge with good training at the ship-in campus in the last 6 months. The first 6 months are for the classroom programme.

Average placements. But good if you have the ability to work very hard for three years.

Placements: Placements are quite good and if you work hard after joining. The management is not worried for your placements. Last year, 14 cadets got placed and 14 are left. S.C.I. will take at least 10 cadets (may be), so 4 will be left unplaced. ESSAR, S.C.I., M.S.C., etc. are the companies which visited this institute for placements.

Review of Indian Maritime University Chennai.

Placements: It is not very good. Every student has some expectations regarding placement but after spending 4-6 lakhs, they got a job offering only 20,000 INR. IMU is big name comes under the central government but not any facility like a government college. They should provide a good job which a student deserves.

All about Merchant Navy College.

Placements: Without sponsorship, no one is allowed to take admission in DNS program. I'm from August 2016 batch. 350 Dollars is the average stipend offered by the companies. We have to deal with salary matter when we complete our 18 months onboard training and after that, we have to clear 2nd mate. By the way, when you clear second mate, you earn minimum 1000 dollar and maximum 2200 dollar and the average is 1200 dollar. MSC, Fleet, Mearsk Line, etc. visited the campus. Merchant Navy is the career where yo...

Good if you are fully devoted or determined towards this profession.

Placements: Good with respect to other government colleges but not as good as the private colleges because private colleges have the MoU with some company. No internship is offered by the college. There are many companies which visit during campusing. Mostly, they join the ship as fifth engineer or trainee engineer.

Good maritime institute under the central government, holds a value.

Placements: Well, placements do happen but not promised as 100% placements to students. Top companies like Kunhe Nagal, Adani, CH Robinsons etc have recruited in the past several years. The salary ranged between 15,000 to 45,000 in my batch. My seniors got overseas offers too, earning about 2 lakhs per month. It is all based on what company shows up and hires you.

Life in this college is pretty unique and I am proud of being a part of it.

Placements: The placement of my senior batch was quite good. 20 out of 34 students got placed in shipping companies like Essar (12), Dockndale (3), Fleet Management (3) and Selandia (2). Shipping Corporation of India is yet to visit our campus and is expected to hire the remaining 14 students. The minimum salary is Rs. 1.3 lacs per month and the maximum is Rs. 1.5 lacs per month. The average salary is Rs. 1.45 lacs per month. The students placed in various companies would undergo a six months onboard traini...

Brilliant placements, facilities and faculty.

Placements: The placement condition is brilliant here. Almost 80% students get their company through campus and remaining 20% off campus. Foreign companies like FML, NYK and Indian companies like Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) visit the campus regularly and recruit the eligible cadets. The approximate salary a cadet gets during training period varies from $400-$800 or even more. Also, scholarly students can avail scholarship easily based on their rank.

An ocean of opportunity lies ahead of you.

Placements: Though placements were hard to come by at the initial stages for us being the first batch of B.Tech Marine Engineering, the scenario has changed completely now, with top rated companies such as TORM, Anglo Eastern, Thome, MOL Synergy, Pacific International Lines, VR Maritime, etc regularly selecting students from HIMT. But there still is a long long way to go.

A promising college with great infrastructure.

Placements: Placement records are not astonishing but are encouraging. Around 60-70% students were able to avail the placements. Shipping industries around Chennai and international companies like Fleet Shipping Co, etc. are recruiting in our campus. Our university provides merit scholarship to top 15 students which is very astonishing. Salary packages are as usual for a trainee deck cadet/ engineer.

I am studying MBA in Logistics and Shipping from CMC. Till now the course is not satisfactory. I would rather say that other colleges offering this course are far better than mine. The facilities for training are not effective and they just concentrate on theoretical learning rather than the practical knowledge we'll need when we step outside the college. Faculty Members are better but still no effort is taken from the management side to enhance the student’s satisfaction level.
