IMU CET 2024 Counselling: The spot round counselling for IMU is over. The last date to register for the spot round counselling was August 5. The candidates had to report for certificate verification for spot counselling on August 6.

IMU conducts online IMU CET counselling for admission to its 6 campuses. Candidates desirous of getting admission to Affiliated Institutes of IMU / other DGS-approved Maritime Training Institutes (MTIs) affiliated to other universities may directly approach the College / Institutes of their choice after obtaining the IMU CET rank certificate issued by IMU. After the declaration of the IMU CET result, shortlisted candidates are called to appear in the counselling. Candidates have to go through the various stages of the counselling process which are registration, choice filling, seat allotment, document verification, fee payment etc. Candidates desirous of taking admission to IMU campuses only need to register in the counselling portal which will be opened after the release of IMU CET rank list. Q:   What are the dates for IMU CET counselling process?

A:

IMU CET counselling registration is open and the last date to register is June 26. IMU conducts the IMU CET counselling in online mode for admission in 6 campuses of IMU. Shortlisted candidates are called for appearing in the counselling. Candidates have to go through various stages which are registration, choice filling, seat allotment, document verification, fee payment etc.

IMU CET 2024 Counselling Spot Round

The spot round of IMU CET counselling 2024 is held offline at the various IMU campuses. Candidates who complete the registration process can participate in the IMU CET counselling. All of the candidates have to report in person to any of the campuses of IMU. Verification of documents will be done by the authorities. The demand draft also has to be submitted by the candidates during the counselling. The allotment process will commence and the candidates will have to confirm their seats and hand over the demand drafts to the campus representative. A confirmation letter can be downloaded once the DDs are handed over.

What After IMU CET 2024 Seat Allotment?

The seat allocated to the candidate through IMU CET Counselling 2024 will be provisional. After IMU CET seat allotment, candidates will have to pay INR 30,000 to confirm their seats. The fee will be non-refundable.

Candidates who will confirm their seat will be allotted a provisional letter which they have to show at the time of document verification. Candidates who will not confirm their seat by the due date will be disqualified and will not be considered for further admission. Candidates whose names will not be published in any admission list will get a refund after deducting the administrative charges of 10% of the counselling fee.

Document Needed for IMU CET 2024 Counselling Verification

The candidate should produce the following original certificates/documents for verification:

  • Proof of Age - Birth Certificate / 10th Std / SSC or equivalent marksheet.
  • 12th Std / Higher Secondary School or equivalent marksheet.
  • Category Certificate [only for SC, ST and OBC (NCL)].
  • Economically Weaker Section Certificate (for General-EWS Candidates).
  • Printed copy of IMU’s CET Rank Certificate.
  • 2 copies of passport-size photographs.
  • Aadhaar Card.
  • NCC Certificate (if applicable)
  • UG Marksheets / Certificate (if applicable)
  • Medical Fitness Certificate
  • Passport (if applicable)
  • Domicile Certificate (if applicable)
  • Candidates selected for BSc (Nautical Science), Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS) and BTech (Marine Engineering) should produce a Medical Fitness Certificate with confirmation of eyesight fitness from a Doctor/Hospital approved by the Director General of Shipping, Mumbai.

IMU CET 2024 Counselling Process

The authorities are conducting the IMU CET counselling online. In the first step, the candidates have to exercise registration by making a payment of INR 10,000. The fee can be paid online i.e., through a debit card/credit card/net banking. After that, the candidates will have to select the programme and campus for admission through IMU CET according to their preference.

The counselling process includes:

Registration: Candidates who have been issued with IMU CET Rank Certificate are provided with a portal through which they can select the Programme(s) and the Campus(es) where they desire to take admission. Candidates have to register on this portal by making an online payment of INR 10,000/- towards the Counselling Fee. The Counselling Fee is nonrefundable if a seat is allotted on any campus in any programme; otherwise, INR 9000 will be refunded. The Candidate should choose multiple options in the order of their preference for:

  • Programmes (Based on fulfilment of eligibility conditions)
  • IMU Campuses

Seat allotment: Based on the Rank, Social Category of the Candidate and availability of seats, a seat is allotted provisionally to the candidate from the list of options provided by them.

Seat confirmation: After allotment of a seat the Candidate will be required to confirm the seat by paying the Programme Fee of INR 30,000/- (Non-refundable). Candidates who fail to confirm their allotted seat by the due date will be treated as drop out and will not be considered for subsequent Admission Lists for up-gradation or seat allotment due to dropouts.

Verification of documents and course commencement: After online counselling, the seats will be allotted and the candidate is required to confirm the seat within a specified number of days by paying the Programme fees (INR 25000-Non-refundable) through the portal. After the final seat allotment, the candidate will be required to appear before the Director of the campus allotted with a medical certificate and original certificates for verification as per the dates mentioned in the Allotment Letter.
