Placements: Our college doesn't provide any jobs or placements for the B.Sc. course in life science. The infrastructure of our college is not very good. They lack many things like faculty for students and education. The placement structure of our college is not good.
Infrastructure: The structure of the course is like a dismantled car. We don't understand what our college is doing with us and what they give and teach us. Our exam fee per semester is Rs. 30,000.
Faculty: About exams of YMCA The exams conducted in the university is good because they have a seperate building name CV Raman which is good for doing and writing exam Because that building has a very good and very silent environment to study and to write exams.
Other: Exams are conducted in the university. They are good because they have a separate building named CV Raman, which is good for writing exams. This building is very good. It has a peaceful environment to study and write exams.

Review of J. C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA.
Placements: The placement opportunity is just average. Reality is, almost no companies came for the placement on the campus, and few companies hire well-skilled students only. Companies visited are Toonz India, etc., and they offer a very high package for placement as fresher. But you have to learn skills on your own.
Infrastructure: The hostel condition is very bad from my experience. Most of the students eat food outside the mess, and they struggle even to meet the basic needs in the hostel. In the hostel premise, they don't have any facility, and they close the hostel after 6 pm, so you have to skip classes for outside work.
Faculty: The faculty staff is just average; they don't have that good knowledge, even still you have to learn other than the curriculum. The course does not include any industrial program. Exams are mainly based on teaching in the class and referred textbooks. You have to attend all the classes to get good marks.

    Very bad for animation B.Sc.
Placements: The average placement in our course is below average. Hardly 30–40% of students were placed in our batch. There are very few placement opportunities coming on campus. One needs to work hard and find placement off campus. The placement is bad in a particular branch only.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the university is average the internet facility is not provided all over the campus. The Wi-Fi is broken at some places. The labs also do not have proper equipment, so the college needs to improve this. The mess food is also of average quality.
Faculty: The teachers here are very strict and always rude with students. There is also an issue with attendance; teachers cancel the class and those lectures go missing. The exams are of moderate level here still due to hard-checking students who score low marks in the exam.

Review of J. C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA.
Placements: To be honest, there are almost no placement opportunities in this particular course. You have to work as an intern or opt for higher education. Most of the students placed are in irrelevant fields to the course. If you want placement, then you have to learn skills outside the curriculum.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good as of now as they are newly added. Most of the labs are well-equipped, and most of the area is recently developed. The classroom size is quite large. They have both boys' and girls' hostels, but students still take flats/PGs outside the college.
Faculty: The teaching staff is newly appointed; only a few of them have good teaching experience, and most of the staff are Ph.D. scholars. The exams happen in sessionals and end semesters. The average of two sessionals + end sem exam gives the total score. You have to score a minimum of 10 in sessionals and 30 in end semesters to pass.

The campus crowd is very bad.
Placements: Approximately 60% of the students successfully secure placements in their final year. Renowned companies like Toonz Animation and Penta Media actively participate in the placement process. However, the percentage of students obtaining internships is considerably low, with only around 10% being able to secure one. The highest package offered during placements was approximately 8lpa.
Infrastructure: The college is equipped with various facilities within its premises, including separate reading rooms in each building. Additionally, there are separate hostels for male and female students, offering room sharing options and dormitories. Both hostels provide a large mess facility for meals five times a day, as well as a night kitchen.
Faculty: The faculty members possess extensive education and a majority of them have prior experience in the teaching industry. The college enforces a strict 75% attendance policy, failure to comply with which will result in the inability to sit for the end semester examination. The curriculum offers a wide range of electives and additional subjects, along with a collaborative industrial program with various companies.

Good college and very nice faculty members.
Placements: Very few companies came during the placement year. Most of that is irrelevant to the course. If you want a good job, then you have to look outside the campus. The highest package offered by the companies is about 5 LPAs, but most of the students opt for higher education.
Infrastructure: The hostel facilities are very bad. They don't even have a good water purification system and you have to rely on outside food because the hostel mess quality is very bad. The college premises have a sports field and an indoor activity stadium for indoor events.
Faculty: Most of the faculty are very supportive, and they even help you if you want to publish a research paper. If you want to score good marks, then you have to attend class regularly because the MOT of the question came from what was taught in the class. You can pass the subject if you get 40% marks in it.

    YMCA University BSc FAQs

Q:   How successful is the placement cell in securing jobs for B.Sc. students at YMCA University?

    A:
    {Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

Success Rate of YMCA University's Placement Cell

Based on the feedback provided by students and alumni, we analyzed the performance of YMCA University's placement cell in securing jobs for B.Sc. students. Here are the key findings:

    * Limited placements: According to some students, the placement cell focuses more on B.Tech and Master's courses, leaving B.Sc. students without sufficient opportunities.
    * Students must apply independently: Many students mentioned that they had to apply outside the campus themselves to get placed in their course, indicating limited involvement from the placement cell.
    * No guaranteed placements: Despite having a decent reputation, the placement cell does not guarantee job placements for all students, especially those in lower semesters.

However, some positive comments suggest that the placement cell occasionally helps students find jobs, although these instances seem rare.

In conclusion, while YMCA University's placement cell has some limitations, it appears that students may face challenges in securing jobs directly through the college's efforts. It seems that individual initiative and self-effort play a crucial role in landing job opportunities.

    {Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

Is it worth pursuing B.Sc at YMCA University?

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary:

    * Infrastructure: The campus infrastructure is decent, with modern facilities and amenities. However, some students mentioned issues with the hostel conditions, water supply, and cleaning services.
    * Facilities: Laboratories, libraries, and sports facilities are generally considered adequate. Some students praised the availability of resources, while others felt they needed improvement.
    * Teaching Quality: Faculty members are mostly well-qualified, experienced, and helpful. However, a few students reported difficulties in understanding certain concepts or found some teachers less approachable.
    * Course Curriculum: The curriculum is relevant, and students appreciate the inclusion of new topics and hands-on training. However, some students felt that the coursework could be improved.
    * Placement Opportunities: Unfortunately, the placement scene for B.Sc students at YMCA University is limited. Fewer companies visit the campus for placements, and many students opt for higher education or freelance work instead. The highest package offered was reportedly around INR7 LPA.
    * Student Life: Campus life is generally enjoyable, with students appreciating the friendly atmosphere and social events. However, some students mentioned concerns about strict rules and limited freedom.

In conclusion, while YMCA University seems to offer a decent educational experience, the placement opportunities for B.Sc students are a major concern. Prospective students should weigh the benefits against the limitations and consider alternative options accordingly.

Q:   Are there any government job opportunities that I can seek after completing BSc from YMCA University?

    A:

In India, job seekers prefer government jobs over private jobs. This is because government jobs provide many benefits, such as tax deductions, good pay, job stability, incentives, and more.

However, this also makes it difficult to get a government job due to high competition. In this competitive landscape, a BSc degree helps students develop skills required to combat the competition. Some of the jobs that BSc graduates can pursue are tabulated below:

    Government Jobs after BSc

    ISRO Scientist/Engineer 'SC'

    Technical Officer in PSUs

Assistant Central Intelligence Officer (ACIO) in IB
