KMAT Kerala cutoff 2024: The KMAT Kerala exam is conducted twice a year for the convenience of the candidates. KMAT Kerala results 2024 were released on March 23, 2024, for the first cycle exam. The second cycle results were released on July 16, 2024. The cut-off marks for KMAT Kerala 2024 will be available after the results have been released. The minimum cut-off marks are 72 for General and SEBC; and 54 for SC/ST candidates. Candidates who have scored as much or above the minimum cut-off marks can apply to colleges accepting KMAT Kerala scores for admission to its MBA programmes.

These cut-off marks are uniform for all the institutes and colleges accepting KMAT Kerala 2024 scores. However, that is not the case with students from different categories. The minimum cut-off mark is different for different categories of students.

Q:   Who determines the KMAT Kerala cutoff?

KMAT Kerala cutoff is released by the exam conducting authority, Commissioner of Entrance Exams, Kerala, after the announcement of the KMAT Kerala result. The KMAT Kerala cut-off is the same for all participating institutes and courses but differs for different categories. These cutoffs are available on the official website of each participating college or institute. Candidates who have appeared for the KMAT Kerala exam must meet the cutoff of their preferred institute in order to gain admission to that particular institute.

Q:   What is the selection process through KMAT Kerala?

A:

The selection procedure through KMAT Kerala basically includes the following steps:

  1. KMAT Kerala exam: The first stage is the KMAT Kerala exam itself. It is a computer-based test that assesses a candidate's aptitude and proficiency in areas such as Quantitative Aptitude (QA), General Knowledge (GK), Logical Reasoning (LR) and English Usage and Reading Comprehension (VARC). The exam consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

  2. KMAT Kerala results: After the exam is conducted, the exam conducting authority releases the KMAT Kerala results in the form of scorecards on the official website which indicates candidate's overall and sectional scores.

  3. KMAT Kerala cutoff: Participating institutes set their own cut-off marks based on the KMAT Kerala scores. Candidates who meet or exceed the cut-off marks are eligible for the subsequent selection rounds.
  4. GD-PI: Shortlisted candidates are then called for the further selection process which includes Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). The candidates are assesed on communication skills, leadership skills, problem-solving skills and suitablity for the management programme. 
  5. Final merit list: After the GD-PI round, the participating institutes release a final merit list which indicates the names of the candidates who have been selected for admissions. Candidates alot seats to the candidates according to the ranks obtained by them.
