Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) - Batch of 2014
Offered by Kurukshetra University
2.8
2Placements2Infrastructure3Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
Somewhat dissatisfied with the system and the infrastructure of the university
Placements: There were very few placements in my batch but there were more placements in my seniors' batch. Only 20% of the students from my batch were successfully placed. The highest salary offered was 2.16 lakh per annum and the lowest salary was Rs. 1.2 lakh per annum. The companies that visited for the campus placement were Make My Trip and Cox & Kings. The roles offered to the placed students were mostly in the middle management. None of the students from my batch got an internship from the college.
Infrastructure: There were Wi-Fi and lab facilities in the university. The classrooms and the library were good. Sports and games were also played at the playground of the university. The quality of the labs and the classrooms was average. The food quality of the canteen was good but the hostel rooms were average. There were many infrastructure related issues like Wi-Fi speed, etc.
Faculty: The experience with the faculty was good. There were many teachers in the faculty who were qualified and knowledgeable. But only some of the teachers were helpful, not all. The teaching method used for study most of the time was presentation. The student to faculty ratio was 4:40. We got industry exposure and the course curriculum was useful.
Other: In some aspects, the university is good. But there is a lot of improvement needed in the system and infrastructure of the university. For example, the strikes of the teachers affect in the study of a lot of students. That also affects their exam results and future. So the university should try to improve on these things.

A:

The basic eligibility criteria for pursuing a BTech at KUK require a candidate to have passed Class 12 with at least 45%. Hence, a candidate scoring more than 45% is eligible to apply for BTech admission at the university. However, scoring 45% in Class 12 does not guarantee admission to the KUK BTech programme. Admission to the programme is based on a cut-off list prepared by the Haryana State Technical Counseling Society (HSTES) based on JEE Main ranks, followed by a counselling process. In case a candidate fails to clear the cut-off required for admission to the regular BTech courses, they can check out colleges offering Online BTech courses.
