LPU MCA Eligibility & Highlights 2026
MCA and MCA (Hons) are two-year courses each divided into four semesters. LPU offers MCA and MCA (Hons) in two specialisations. Additionally, the university also offers MCA in online and distance education modes through the LPU Centre for Distance & Online Education. After completing graduation, candidates can apply for MCA courses. LPU shortlists candidates for MCA and MCA (Hons) courses based on LPUNEST score. Selection criteria: LPUNEST
Eligibility: Candidates also need to pass BCA or BSc Computer Science or BSc IT or any graduation with computer science as a course in all three years of graduation with at least 55% aggregate to apply for MCA course. Aspirants who have passed BA/ BCom/ BSc (any discipline) with Mathematics /Statistics / QT/ Business Math at Class 12 level or graduation level (Have to do bridge/additional courses after joining LPU) can apply for MCA course.
Note: 5% to North East states and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents/Wards of Kashmiri Migrants. Also, the minimum aggregate as per the awarding board/ university are considered.

If the DD is not enclosed or DD is wrongly drawn, the application form will not be accepted. The application fee has to be paid to submit the application form.

LPU does not offer direct admission. However, admission to few courses is merit-based. Aspirants scoring a 65% aggregate have a good chance of getting admission in LPU. Candidates seeking admission must visit the official website of the university to apply online. To apply for LPU, aspirants need to register for LPUNEST for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. LPU admission to most of the courses is based on LPUNEST score. However, national-level entrance exam scores are also accepted for admission to BA LLB (Hons), MBA, BTech, etc. Candidates must complete Class 12 for UG courses and graduation for PG courses. Step 1: Visit the official website of LPU, https://www.lpu.in/, and click on the ' Apply Now' tab at the top of the web page.
Step 2: Register on the official admission portal of LPU i.e. LPUADMIT (admission.lpu.in) with basic details such as name, email-id, mobile no., state, gender and password). The email id used during registration will act as the username for the portal and the password needs to be set by the candidate while registering. Candidates can continue to apply for LPUNEST (for scholarship purposes).

Step 2: Slot Booking
This step is applicable only to the candidates appearing for LPU NEST. In LPUNEST slot booking, aspirants need to select an exam date and a shift for appearing in the exam. There are two ways to book the slot that are slot booking by the candidate and slot booking by the authorities of Lovely Professional University.
Step 3: Selection Rounds
The university conducts LPUNEST to shortlist candidates for MCA admission.

After completion of the selection rounds, shortlisted candidates for MCA are further called for document verification round. Aspirants need to confirm their seat by paying the MCA course fee.

Yes, students can get admission in LPU without LPUNEST if they have scores of other accepted exams. The university conducts LPUNEST as both a scholarship and entrance test. Students can instead submit scores of the following exams as well:

- CUET-PG for MSc, MCA, etc.
