I am satisfied. It is good value for money, peaceful, with fewer activities but good for research.
Placements: Our college has a 100% placement rate. There were 37 students in the fourth year, and all of those who wanted placement got placed. Some of them even got placed in their home state as they wanted just a salary package, which varies from 5 LPA to 8 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of NDRI is quite amazing. It is spread over 1300 acres and has a large number of livestock. It is full of greenery and quite peaceful. Even as you open the gate of your hostel room, you directly walk into grass. Classrooms are digital and labs are quite advanced.
Faculty: Teachers here are very knowledgeable. All of them here are scientists or assistant professors. It is deemed that's why exam questions are made by them and checked by them only, so sometimes you just know all the questions that will come. There is one disadvantage. If you mess with any of your course teachers, then they can fail you and you will not be able to do anything.
Other: Students outside of their domicile get scholarships of up to Rs. 3000 per month for bachelor's degrees, and Rs. 5000 and Rs. 12000 for master's and Ph.D. degrees, respectively. Fests are quite rare here, and activities are also few. They mostly focus on studies. You can do B.Tech here and you will get 144,000 RS as a scholarship.

NDRI is the number 1 agriculture university in India.
Placements: It is the best agriculture college in India. It ranked 1st in Agriculture University Rankings 2021. NDRI is the leading agriculture university that guides students in learning agriculture concepts, and placements are very good. Top recruiting companies are Nestle, Amul, Cadbury etc.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities are excellent. The canteen is very impressive, surrounded by greenery, making it beautiful. The college also has medical facilities and a self-owned hospital, where students get free treatment. All you need here is your college identity card.
Faculty: The faculty members are very impressive and the best. There are three types of faculty, scientist, senior scientist and principal scientist. They guide students in better learning of the theoretical section. They also guide students in learning better practical dairy knowledge by conducting innovative experiments.
Other: The college provides great opportunities for students. When I was in Class 12, the year was 2011. I was preparing for ICAR exam and gave in 2012 and got AIR 84. So after counseling, I got NDRI college.

It's a unique college with simple people.
Placements: Last year, placements percentage was approximately 95%, and it's a huge and good number of students that are placed. The highest package was nestled; it was giving approximately 12 LPA. And if you’ll talk about the average package, then it was 6 LPA—that's quite a good package. And if you’ll talk about top roles, then you will recruit for quality control, production section, and you’ll also recruit for the maintenance section.
Infrastructure: If you’ll talk about facilities, we have a total of 48 courses. Mainly the courses are dairy engineering, dairy technology, dairy microbiology, and some economics courses as well. There are also some extension courses that’ll help with your communication. And if you’ll talk about faculty, they are quite helpful in nature, and they’ll help you to do any project if you’re interested in that particular field. I’m talking about the B.Tech level because in other colleges, at the B.Tech level, it’s quite difficult to do any project-type things.
Faculty: Yes, of course, teachers are quite helpful in nature. Basically, they’re very generous in nature, they’ll help you and guide you for your future journey as well, and they’re quite knowledgeable. They’ll guide you as parents, and of course, they’re strict as well. In semester exams, they’ll ask only those questions that were taught by them, so of course, you can say it’s a good opportunity for you, and it’ll help you a lot.
Other: Yes, you’ll get the exposure of new fields as well as the opportunity for further studies because it’s a very renowned institute.

It is the best college in India for pursuing dairy technology, with ICAR ranking 1.
Placements: The placement scenario is excellent, which is responsibly managed by HOD. Almost 95% of the students got placed with decent salary packages in MNC ranges between 7-8 LPA. For cooperatives and in milk plants, the salary package offered ranges between 5-7 LPA. Top recruiters of our college are Nestle, Mother Dairy, Verka, Tetrapak, GSK, DuPont, Amul, etc. You can apply for prestigious DDO, i.e., Dairy Development Officer roles and other job internships.
Infrastructure: NDRI is the best agricultural university in India. Classrooms are well-equipped with air-conditioners, projectors, whiteboards, laptops and all other relevant materials. The campus is lush green and is expanded to about 1,450 acres. Free Wi-Fi is available, and the library is huge and well-furnished with proper sitting arrangements and relevant books. There are 4 cafeterias and mess for all 9 hostels, and all types of sports facilities are available.
Faculty: Highly skilled and qualified scientists selected from ASRB teach us, and there is a mentor for 4 students. Practical industry exposure is given through educational tours, in-plant training and the most importantly, ready dairy programs. The teaching procedure is based on both industrial aspect and knowledge gaining. There are experimental dairies near practical labs for thorough practical understanding.
Other: Our college charges a very low fee and provides a bright career. Students get an ICAR scholarship of Rs. 3,000 per month.

Hi,
Yes, you can appear for the entrance exams and go for a B-Tech degree.
In my opinion, Food Technology would be covering a wider aspect. You will develop competence in areas like Food Process Engineering, Crop Processing Technology, Food Analysis and regulations, Plant and Animal biotechnology.
Answered 5 years ago
For an admission in NDRI, you have to go through the entrance test conducted by NDRI or you have to go through by ICAR.
