For NIT Durgapur M.Tech admission, candidates must apply for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. GATE is an online national-level examination conducted for Master of Engineering (ME), Masters in Technology (MTech) and direct PhD admissions to IITs, NITs, IIITs and other institutes/universities across India. The exam is scheduled between February 4 and 12. 

NIT Durgapur admissions for MTech is based on GATE score. The institute offers seats under Sponsored and Self-Sponsored Category. After qualifying GATE, candidates are required to come for CCMT Counselling. GATE cutoffs are released online, aspirants with score equal or above cutoff, become eligible for counselling. Aspirants need to register for CCMT Counselling to become eligible for seat allotment. Selected candidates are required to confirm their seat by paying the course fee.

NIT Durgapur GATE Cutoff 2024 has been released for admission to MTech courses. The cutoff score for admission to closed at a range of 358 and 505, among the General All India category candidates. Therefore, it is not possible for candidate belonging to the General AI category to get admission at the score of 250-280.

Among the OBC All India category candidates, the cutoff ranks for different courses closed at a range of 302 and 464. NIT Durgapur does not provide a BSc programme, but an Integrated BSc + MSc programme in Chemistry. The duration of the programme is five years. It leads to a dual-degree, i.e. a BSc and an MSc degree in Chemistry. NITD has an intake of 19 students for the five-year programme. Admission to the programme is based on JEE (Main) ranks and seats are allocated through JoSAA/CSAB counselling.

National Institute of Technology Durgapur offers a two-year full-time MSc course at the postgraduate level. Candidates seeking admission to the MSc course need to appear for the IIT JAM entrance test. NIT Durgapur MSc admission is done on the basis of valid IIT JAM scores, followed by a counselling process. IIT JAM 2023 exam will be conducted on February 12.
