A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

It's good in terms of infrastructure and courses offered, and it's constantly getting better.
Placements: Nearly 85% of students get placed every year. Since Mathematics and Computing is a new course that opened this year, there is no such data on the average, lowest, or highest package. Top recruiting companies are Google, Amazon, Flipkart, ZS, Cisco, TCS, Oracle, and Reliance India Limited.
Infrastructure: There is very good service in the labs, classrooms, and library. There is 24/7 electricity supply in the hostel. The hostel rooms are clean and hygienic. Talking about the mess food, it is very good and healthy. Three meals are served. Hostel rooms accommodate 3 persons at a time. All first-year students have separate hostels.
Faculty: The teachers are good. They are always available for any help. However, some teachers are not that good. B.Tech in Mathematics and Computing is a very good course, keeping in mind the competitive world. One can easily get an internship and placement even if they have basic knowledge. The semester exams are moderate, and above 5 CGPA is considered a pass.
Other: I gave JEE Main and got in by my rank. The best thing about this course is that it is the best course available right now, keeping in mind the growing technological industry. The campus is good and approximately 200 acres. It is not that crowded.

A New Way to Start Your Life.
Placements: The highest package was almost 51 LPA in 2024, and the lowest was 8 LPA. The average package is 10 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Apple, Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Microsoft, IBM, ICICI Bank. 70 percent of students got internships in various companies.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure of the classrooms, libraries, and labs are all much good and clean. There is a good Wi-Fi connection in the hostel rooms. The hostel is good, living rooms are good, toilets are almost clean, and mess food is also good. A medical unit is there for medical issues. Big grounds are there for sports and games.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Courses are good and knowledgeable. If someone focuses on daily college study, they can surely achieve something good. Semester exams are okay, not so easy, not so difficult. The pass percentage is more than 60 percent.
Other: This course is helpful for a good career, it gives better career options. No change is needed for this course. Campus and events are good and enjoyable.

My Experience at NIT DURGAPUR.
Placements: You can apply for full-time roles in college (on-campus) from the 7th semester because many companies start hiring from this semester. Top companies like Microsoft, JP Morgan, BNY Mellon, Wells Fargo, etc., take students mostly from the Computer Science branch.
Infrastructure: Recently, there was an inauguration of the Research Building (Utkarsh Bhawan). It will definitely create an impact on this college's reputation and ranking in a good way. Overall, the quality of mess food is average here but sometimes it is bad. There are 2 grounds in this college, Ovals and Lords.
Faculty: Some teachers are good here. Each semester you have to give 3 exams i.e., CA1 (15 marks), CA2/Mid-term (25 marks), and Endterm (60 marks). I will not say that the curriculum is worse but there should be some modification in every department's syllabus. Overall, difficulty is moderate for passing the exam.

All about National Institute Of Technology Durgapur.
Placements: As compared to other colleges, our college is doing better, and I don't regret coming here. The placement percentage was around between 70 and 75 percent. Apple came this year and took students. Other than that, companies like Microsoft, Texas Instruments, PepsiCo, Reliance, PWC, ZS associate and many more visit. The highest package was 80 LPA. Internship is bagged by almost all students who work hard. In chemical engineering, they get internships in Bharat Petroleum, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is excellent. The hostels are excellent, especially for the first and the second years. Apart from that, the new academic building, the main academic building and the buildings of the respective departments are excellent. The Wi-Fi is not that good but it's decent. The labs are also well-equipped; however, they are quite old and need to be refurbished again. The classrooms are great and well air conditioned and the same applies to the library. The lodging facilities in the hostel are top-notch. However, there are high fluctuations in the quality of the food we get in the mess.
Faculty: The curriculum was updated in 2023 and it has been improved. In case of faculty, some of the faculty I came across are really helpful and communicative. However, some are not good and are hated by many people. The main point is that whether the faculty is good or bad, they all are well qualified. The curriculum has been updated but still studying topics like ecology and engineering graphics in the first year for non-mechanical engineering students is a complete waste of time. The semester exams are between moderate and hard. Pass percentage is decent.
Other: I chose this course as I have an interest in chemical engineering. Also, the placements in this field here are quite decent. Our college hosts Aarohan, the second largest tech fest of eastern India. Also, fests like Recstacy and a lot more make it unique. A lot of clubs are there that we can join. Every time, there is something or the other going on in the campus.

Really good placements even in recession.
Placements: In my course, around 87% of students were placed last year with an average package of around 16 LPA, the highest was 51 LPA, and the lowest was around 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies were NVIDIA, Texas Instruments, Microsoft, Apple, etc. 20 to 30 percent of students got internships. Every company offered the role of SDE 1.
Infrastructure: Facilities are very good; you will have 24*7 water supply and electricity supply and Wi-Fi support. Labs are a little old but still manageable, and classrooms are fantastic with full AC. They are newly built; that's why. Food quality in mess is also very good. In your first year, you will be getting chicken 4 times a week, fish 3 times a week, and eggs 5 times a week. Medical facilities are good. Here, ambulances are always kept for any unwanted emergency. We have 2 sports grounds, one for football and one for cricket, both of which are fantastic in size.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, but that is subjective. Some are helpful, others are not. Some of the teachers are very knowledgeable, but some only have basic understandings of the subject. The course is still that old and outdated. Semester exams are moderate level. Pass percentage in semester exam of my college is around 96%.
Other: I didn't actually choose this course. I was looking for a CSE, and somehow I landed here after JEE. But I am not at all regretting it. Campus life is good, there will always be any event happening in the campus which will keep students engaged. Campus is very big and not at all crowded; after all, it's an NIT. You will easily get a scholarship if you are from this college.

Not very satisfactory college.
Placements: I am currently a 3rd-year student pursuing B. Teach in Chemical Engineering. Companies allowing Chemical students are L&T, Reliance, HPCL, BPCL, PwC, etc. Till date (18/1/25), 53% of students from Chemical have been placed. For internships, the opportunities are fewer.
Infrastructure: In the department, Wi-Fi is available but not accessible for students. If you are a Jio user, then inside the department, you will face network issues. Labs and classes aren't very amazing. Wi-Fi is provided in the hostel. The mess food isn't good at all. Game facilities are available in the hostel.
Faculty: Not all the teachers are that welcoming and helpful. They may be knowledgeable but don't always profess the knowledge properly. The curriculum is okayish. Still, it should be improved. The exams are not very difficult. If you study properly, you can score good.
Other: Fests and events are organized in the campus by the various clubs of the college.
