My Experience at NIT DURGAPUR.

Placements: You can apply for full-time roles in college (on-campus) from the 7th semester because many companies start hiring from this semester. Top companies like Microsoft, JP Morgan, BNY Mellon, Wells Fargo, etc., take students mostly from the Computer Science branch.

Why you should not take civil engineering in NIT DURGAPUR .

Placements: I am currently studying civil engineering in NIT. The last year placement percentage is 78.69% which is much lower than the other branches. Even the internship opportunities are very low only 2-3 companies come hire civil engineers in NIT faculty is very strict and won't give marks at all.

Dissatisfaction at its peak.

Placements: Placements are quite good at NIT Durgapur. I don't know how, but companies like Google, Microsoft, Wells Fargo, etc. visit for on-campus placements. If you get the good crowd here, you will progress a lot, but keep in mind your surroundings.

Review of NIT Durgapur - National Institute of Technology.

Placements: The placements are average in NITDGP. Core departments have a poor chance of getting placed. As per 2020 UG records, approximately 88% of students got placed from the computer science department, while the record was approximately 40% for civil engineering department. Moreover, the internships are not as satisfactory as they should be.

You can opt this college only if you want to improve your personality as you will learn to adapt.

Placements: About 30-40% of academically top students get placements. The highest salary package offered is around 30 LPA, the lowest salary package offered is 2.5 LPA and the average salary package offered is 5-6 LPA. Core companies come for mechanical and electrical students. There are good placements for IT and CSE students. In the ECE branch, 60-70% of the students get placements only if they know C programming.

Average infrastructure, not so good faculty and okay placement.

Placements: About 80% of people get placed from our department of Computer Science and Engineering. Last year the highest package offered was 39 LPA. The mass recruiter gave an average of 3-4 LPA. The average package is nearly 8 LPA. Top companies are Microsoft, Amazon, Qualcomm and a few more. In 3rd year many students got internship in many companies via college. In 2nd year we have already given the first round coding exam for internship in companies like JPMC.

Review of NIT Durgapur - National Institute Of Technology.

Placements: The college has a very good placement record. Many good companies visited the campus during our time, and more than 70% of the students get placed with an average salary package of 5 LPA, and with the highest salary package up to 13 LPA. Approximately our seniors also had very good placement and even our juniors. If you are planning to join this college, I would suggest you go ahead. College life is very good at the campus.

Review of National Institute Of Technology Durgapur.

Placements: Placements for our senior batches were good with a year-round placement season in various MNCs. Even PSUs like IOCL and BEL visited the college to recruit some of the most bright minds. The average salary package offered was 7.3 LPA. Even companies visited to hire interns from 3rd year.

Overall, it is a good college.

Placements: Placements in our college are good. For computer science and information technology departments, it is good. Rest of the departments such as electrical and civil have average placements. The placement cell is very active, and it tries to provide jobs to every student. Overall, it is fine.

I've wasted 4 years of my life in this college.

Placements: Placements were not really good for ECE students. No core companies visit the campus to hire the students of ECE, and most of the companies offer software jobs. The average salary package offered is around 4 LPA. Most of the students were selected by mass recruiters like TCS and Infosys, etc. I believe that the placements have improved since our tenure.

Good for IT and CS branches.

Placements: The placement scenario at NIT Durgapur is generally good. For CS IT and ECE branches, the placement rate is >80%. The highest package was 30 LPA from DE Shaw and average package for IT branch was around 6.5 LPA. As far as Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering is concerned, you will get rewarded if you work hard but a number of companies is limited. However, branches such as Biotechnology and Metallurgy have a really bad job rate.

Need of Improvisations in NIT Durgapur.

Placements: For placement in our college, the overall scenario is very good for CS and IT and ECE branches. This year placement of Mechanical is also very good along with Civil, Chemical. Electrical is more or less okay. For Biotechnology and Metallurgy placement is not so good. Now coming to the companies lots have come like Qualcomm, Endurance Intl, De Shaw (PPO), Microsoft (PPO), Envestnet Yodlee (PPO also), Amazon (PPO also), Direct Devops, Saint Gobain, Factset, Capgemini, PWC, Goldman Sachs, Thermax (...

The college has the good faculty members, but not great infrastructure.

Placements: The placements for the batch 2017-18 was good border lining on 85%. The companies like Amazon, Intel, and Microsoft were the memorable ones. The highest salary offered was 27 lacs per annum, the lowest was 4 LPA, and the average was 8-9 LPA. Almost every student got the internship from the college.

All is good except faculty and hostels.

Placements: The placements start in early August and continue until April next year. There's a training and placements department (TnP) that takes care of the process centrally for the students. Each department has two student representatives termed TPR in the TnP, and they coordinate with the rest of the students. The information technology department gets about 90% placements on the average. There used to be two kinds of companies mass and non-mass. The mass companies recruit in large numbers, and they in...

Disappointed of placements here. Some faculty don't know how to teach. Poor infrastructure.

Placements: Our batch had a bad season. Out of 78 students, more than 50% were unplaced. And don't go as per statistics because some companies were not even up to the standard of NITs. But the seniors got Placement in standard companies before 2016 batch. 2016 batch also faced the problems. The highest salary offer for our batch was 9LPA in the finance company, and the lowest was BPSL which gave 15000. The average salary was around 3.5LPA. Very few companies visited and also took few students. Some of them ...

Dissatisfied with unworthy people working in academics, poor placement in 2015.

Placements: The placements were always threatened by our faculty if there is any protest going on by the student wing, especially academically. Otherwise, the college placements were good. The highest package for my branch was 5.5 LPA by L&T. The lowest package was 3.5 LPA, but that one was a mass recruiter. A lot of companies visited our campus, but there were very few from the civil background. Only 7 were placed from my batch of 48 in core field. The others were placed in IT companies. No one except for ...

NIT Durgapur is a developing college.

Placements: The placements are good enough but some tier-1 companies like DE Shaw and Microsoft prefer to do away with NIT Durgapur, and more emphasis is laid on the final year placements rather than the 3rd-year internships. The placement percentage for CSE and IT goes as high as 70%, but the internships are as low as 20%.

An institute aiming for the sky, with wings made of stone.

Placements: The effort for placements are underwhelming. The placements are mainly headed by students with faculty playing little or no part of the initiatives. Given the merit of the students of this college, they deserve better opportunities. There's a lack of uniformity among all branches, and they are not equally represented in the industry.

There is no learning except a recognised degree.

Placements: Our batch was fully placed, but most were not relevant to the field of study. All total about 70% of the students were placed. A few people got the internships from computer science department. I don't have an idea of the placements because I was research-oriented myself. But many people got chance in Google Summer of Code. The internships were sought by the students solely. There will be no help from the college.
