Review of NIT Rourkela - National Institute of Technology (NITRKL).
Placements: About 60% of the students got placed in the previous year from our college. The highest salary package offered is 12 LPA, while the lowest salary package offered is 8 LPA. Siemens, Capgemini, Math Works, etc., are the top recruiting companies of our course. Designer, management trainee and developer are good roles offered in our course. The average salary package offered is 6.4 LPA. About 15% of the students got internships from our college. I got placed in SAIL company with a salary of Rs. 12,400 per month.
Infrastructure: Our college has a digital library with 10 lacs books, international journals, research papers, etc. The campus has a 24x7 Wi-Fi facility, and there are handsomely equipped labs with advanced machinery. There are 12 huge halls where a variety of Indian food items are available, along with 5 days of non-vegetarian every week. There are a hospital, ambulance service and free medicine on our campus.
Faculty: Almost 98% of the faculty members here are PhD holders, and their teaching quality is very good. The student to faculty ratio is 14:1, and there is a good industry-oriented course curriculum. Many internship programs, many conferences, guest lectures and many technical fests are organised here, which make students improve their knowledge. Teachers are very well qualified, and also their teaching is helpful to students.
Other: For design, there are lots of future chances to increase campus placements. Innovation technology fests, many sports fests, etc., are organised here. The campus crowd is above 12,000 students, and the campus is well connected with roads, rails. Our college provides scholarships, very good sports, fests, conferences, etc. Our college has a well-designed infrastructure with a very beautiful campus, which makes the technical education worth.

Overall, this college is the best for research works.
Placements: Placements in college are good for B.Tech students. Almost all students from the branches such as computer science engineering, electronic and communication engineering, and industrial engineering, etc., get placed. Approximately 90% of the students get placed from the mechanical engineering department. As far as the placements for the course M.Tech in design is concerned, only 3 out of 20 got placed this year.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very good when compared to other NITs. The campus environment is better than other NITs for studies. Wi-Fi facilities are available here. Each student is offered a room in the hostel, and this is good for study. Labs in the mechanical department are good. The library is very good, but we face a problem with books availability as only 2 or 3 books of each writer is available.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very experienced and supportive. All the teachers are PhD holders. Some of them have done PhDs from foreign institutes, and some are from IITs. There are 11 faculty members in the design stream, and faculty members in our department are more than any other mechanical branches like thermal, production, etc. The quality of teaching is average.
Other: A fest or event is organised in college almost every month.
