All about NIT Rourkela.
Placements: Almost 90% of students got placed in the institute last year. The highest salary package offered was 80 LPA, and the average salary package offered was 20 LPA. The median salary package offered was 21.6 LPA. Most students secured internships in many companies like Paypal, Razorpay, etc., in their third year. Top roles offered were software roles, BFSI, and management roles.
Infrastructure: Many facilities like music room, gym, reading room, and TV Room are available in hostel along with WI-FI facility. The food facilities are average. Every necessary facility like canteen, medical items, and even sports items are provided which are of good quality.
Faculty: Faculty members are well-qualified and highly knowledgeable. However, their teaching methods are not appropriate for all students. Course curriculum is not industry-relevant and is quite outdated. However, many subjects are introduced in the important third year. Semester exams are quite difficult.
Other: I chose this course because I got Computer Science branch in the college. Subjects that are present in the curriculum are not fit for the industry. Campus crowd is the best part of the college as every student is quite smart. Fests like Cosmo, Innovision, Vriddhi, and Nitrutsav are conducted throughout the year.

Wholesome package at NITR.
Placements: Almost everyone gets placed as long as they avoid backlogs and maintain good discipline. This year, the highest package offered was 85 LPA, while the median package was 20+ LPA, and the lowest package was 6.5 LPA. Top tech giants like Amazon and Microsoft visited the campus, offering high packages. Other companies like AMEX also provided impressive opportunities. A compulsory 8-week internship in the third year ensures students gain valuable industry exposure. Many internships led to PPOs, with roles ranging from junior team positions to high-level positions for students excelling in their domains.
Infrastructure: Hostels are well-equipped with facilities like free Wi-Fi, study rooms, game rooms, and 24/7 canteens. However, the mess food quality is a concern, though recent reforms are improving it.
Faculty: The faculty emphasizes practical learning over theoretical knowledge, ensuring students acquire workplace-ready skills. The curriculum has been updated following NEP guidelines. However, some students find certain first-year subjects, like Safety Engineering for CSE or AIML for Civil students, irrelevant. Academics are strict, with an 85% attendance policy. Passing marks are 35 out of 100 for theory and 40 out of 100 for practicals.
Other: NIT Rourkela has significantly improved its CSE curriculum, incorporating industry-level training and internship opportunities. Starting CS fundamentals from the first semester would further benefit students. The college encourages leadership and collaboration through numerous student clubs under the Student Activity Centre. Regular fests, including technical, cultural, sports, and ethnic events, enhance the vibrant campus life.

The college is actually good.
Placements: 60% of students were placed in our course. The highest package is 80 Lacs, and the lowest package is 10 Lacs. The average package is 30 Lacs. Top recruiting companies of the college are Amazon and Flipkart. Top roles offered in our course are coding and computer labs.
Infrastructure: The college offers Wi-Fi, a chemistry laboratory, a physics lab, a library, and AC classrooms. The quality of the mess is good, but they can improve it. The canteen is available almost 24 hours. There is a night canteen also. The medical facilities are good. The pharmacy is available 24 hours.
Faculty: The teachers are very qualified, dignified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good. The semester exams are tough. The pass percentage is 70%. The semester exams are challenging; that is why the pass percentage is only 70 percent. Sometimes the paper is somewhat easy, but most of the time, it is difficult.
Other: I chose this course because it has many options to get jobs. Coding is the best thing about my course.

You should give it a try and explore.
Placements: Almost 80% and above students get internships here. The top recruiters are Amazon, IBM, Oracle, Infosys, etc. And almost every student gets placed here. The highest package paid to the CS department here is 83 LPA, and they get roles like teaching, team lead, management, and software development.
Infrastructure: The CS department here is old but still has AC and Wi-Fi coverage one can find here in every room. Department building covers labs, seminar halls, and rooms for professors. Hostel life is very cheering. Among 1000 students, you will forget all your worries and express yourself with the better version of yourself. The hostel comes with 4 floors, ground to 3rd. It includes a common gym, music room, reading room, TV room, and games arena. Some of the games that are available for students are chess, carrom, table tennis, badminton, and volleyball.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members are senior in age. There are some new faculty members but very few in number. They come from a decent background, like IIT or any renowned institute, and are very good rank holders of their time. The new professors somehow make the class engaging by more interaction. However, the teaching skills of each of them are appreciable.
Other: Firstly, it is one of the renowned institutes of my state, having a good background in CSE among the people of our state. It has great facilities for students. Others can go for a life-loving experience here. It has a green campus and high-end facilities for students, which overall shapes a student. As there are plenty of courses, you will SEE a huge crowd of students roaming around the campus via cycle for smooth aviation. We have fests like Innovation, the tech fest, Cosmo, the multi-ethnic fest, Vriddhi, the sports fest, Nitrutshav, and celebrity night, and you will definitely enjoy these. It has clubs like Cyborg for robotics, Axiom for math, APS for coding, Synergy and Mavericks for dance, Euphony the rock band, and Heart Beats the music band. There are sports clubs for every sport. The course design was good, and I think it should be modernized a bit for better and smoother aviation throughout.

Very satisfied by joining the Institute.
Placements: Above 90% of students who are doing my course are placed in good companies. The highest package offered was 80 LPA, the lowest package was 8 LPA, and the average package offered is 12 LPA. Various companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Infosys, Reliance, and many more offer jobs. Almost 80% of students got internships in TCS-type companies. Toppers may be recruited as managers and normal students as employees.
Infrastructure: The campus is very beautiful and green. The environment is much comfortable for studying, and there are different buildings for different departments. The Wi-Fi connection is very good and available for all students. Classrooms are big enough, and the library has all the latest and ancient book collections. The mess food is of high quality, and hygiene is maintained. Our hostel also has day and night canteen facilities, medical facilities, and inside the hostel, badminton, volleyball, and table tennis courts are available.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and supportive, and at the time of exams, they take extra classes and give assignments for better results. The course curriculum is somewhat unique. Semester exams are very difficult, and the pass percentage is 35 for theory and 40 for practical.
Other: I have an interest in knowing how the application and website run. By choosing this course, I am able to study all these things. The job chances are more than any other course. There is no need for Chemistry and Environmental Engineering subjects in Computer Science and Engineering; they have to remove these subjects. Different kinds of fests are organized, and students come from different NITs and enjoy different cultures, folk, technology, etc. Different clubs are also in the college.

You need at least 75.5 from the CBSE board or 65%. If you are from UP, boards, there are different criteria for merits, but nowadays 75% is working for all government colleges. And for more information, you may check it on the college site.

Definitely not, NIT colleges are only for those who scored extremely well in JEE Mmains examination. Score having 320-330+ out of 360 will only be considered as an NIT score.
