The campus life is one to die for, but some of the faculty really have to step up the quality.
Placements: Presidency University being an arts and science university does not offer placements after post graduation except for the economics department. The economics department guarantees some sort of placements to its post-graduation students, but it is not at all at par compared to other universities as such.
Infrastructure: Presidency University has a very rich heritage and culture. It is a top educational institute in itself. The campus is not much huge, but it is very good. Classrooms are mostly clean and have fans. Wi-Fi is available all over the campus. The university provides hostels for both boys and girls. The science labs are equipped with top equipment. Libraries are stocked with almost all the books of various subjects. There are a huge football field, a basketball court and a volleyball court in the heart of the campus where tournaments are held throughout the year.
Faculty: The presidency could've boasted about its faculty members and professors a few years back, but after the bicentenary celebration, it has lost its touch. A lot of new faculty members have been recruited, replacing more than 80 researchers and professors but haven't quite been able to fill the shoes. Departments such as life science, physics, political science, etc., still have great professors and faculty members, but the other departments need a lot of shining to the quality of the teachers and the departments too.

Presidency University: Death of an Idea.
Placements: There is no any active placement cell in Presidency University since 2014. Sometimes by the pressure of students authority invites some company who offers jobs those are unable to fulfil a single persons monthly desires. Students Union has demanded many times for proper campusing but authority said they don't care of students' future.
Infrastructure: There is free WI-FI around the campus. The whole campus is decorated with tiles and plywood walls. The lightings are very costly. But the education quality is very poor. Most of the department has only Assistant Professors, no any Professor or Associate Professor. The high qualified teachers (at least 100) left the university in last 4 years. Everyone blamed the academic atmosphere and authority in the resignation letters. Most of the Professors who were recruited by Professor Anuradha Lohia (Vice-Chancellor) can't teach properly. Hostels are also under very dark situation. Boys hostel is closed from last 2.5 years for renovation. But neither the renovation is doing properly nor the students are given proper place for living. A place is given to live the hostel boarders which is far away from Kolkata and students have to travel upto 2+2 hours in a day. Also the place is in a remote area and nothing available there. The college canteens are huge costly. One canteen named Promod da's Canteen which was light better than others is closed by the authority and there a new canteen is opened which has very poor food quality and huge price. Anyway we go to the university to study. But in Presidency University there is no any academic quality to study properly. Most of the useful books are not available in the library. The grading system is also very poor. This university just has a history of great alumni like Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Amartya Sen, Satyajit Roy etc. But currently this institution has no future.
Faculty: Once this institution was one of the best in India in academics. It was called center of Excellence. But today it is just a heritage area. At least 100 Professors left Presidency in last 4 years for the bad condition and politically biased authority. The Vice Chancellor is close to rulling party. So she does whatever she want even that is against education. The new teachers recruited by her can't teach properly. Even they ask to us to teach them. Syllabus or curriculum is very old and must be updated. Question pattern is semester also should be more qualitative. The faculty student ratio is 1:17. The research quality is very poor. Most of the department has no any Professors those have the eligibility to take research scholar under them. The history of this institution is very glorified. But from last 4 years due to the Vice Chancellor and the ruling party of West Bengal the university is just has become a building.
Other: The university has 2500 students in total. Female students are greater in number. Students has good connectivity to each other. There is 3 political organisation in the campus. Beyond the ideological difference they all maintain good relation to each other. No any clash between students is happens here like other colleges of West Bengal. There is some scholarship by government is available but the amount is not enough to study in a elite university like Presidency. But the student organizes crowd funding to help the friends from low financial background. There is only thing that has not been changed is Students' activities. The official fest of Presidency is Milieu which is one of the most popular college fest after Sanskriti by Jadavpur University's students. Also there is an another fest which is known as ICON. Milieu is happening last time this year. Because it is organized by Presidency University Students' Union and the state government recently banned on students union. Not only Milieu but Presidency will lost many other things like annual magazine, publication society, cultural society and others because of the ban of union. Anyway the history of the university will always be remembered even the university exist or not in future.
