Candidates who has passed the 10+2 or its equivalent examination is eligible to apply provided he/she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100. No candidate shall be allowed for admission after a lapse of more than 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination or discontinuation of recognized regular Course of Study after passing the previous qualifying examination. For the purpose of determining eligibility for admission to the Honours Course, aggregate marks shall be calculated by adding the marks in top-four subjects in order of marks secured by a candidate. However, marks in compulsory Environmental Education /Studies shall not be taken into account for calculation of aggregate marks. Candidate must have aggregate 50% and English: 45% However, Candidates belonging to the SC/ ST or OBC Community must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate.

One of the best colleges for this course. Best campus crowd I've ever seen.

Placements: 30% students are being placed in different companies. 2.5-3.6 LPA is the average package offered from different private companies. 40% recruiting is done by ICICI, Bandhan, HDFC banks, Amazon etc. Admin, BSE are the usual posts, offered for English (Honours) students.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite simple yet good. The classrooms are simple (non AC) but you can decorate your classroom according to your preference after getting permission from the students union. Our college doesn’t have an attached hostel, but there are a lot of PG in that area. Canteen food is not so good. There are some street food stalls around our college. Two major sports events take place.

Faculty: They are the best faculty members one can get as a student. It is totally a theory based subject but it develops you into a smarter version of yourself. Getting good marks in semester exams is quite tough but not impossible.

Other: Best among all.

Good Faculty, a Dismal College Life, and a Questioning Future

Placements: The placement system for almost all colleges under Calcutta University is terrible. It is better advised to look out for internships from your second year and on, and build relevant experience so that you can build your resume and look for jobs yourself.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is not the best. The benches in the classroom are not good. Some fans do not operate in the classroom, and that makes it extremely difficult to focus on classes. There aren't even any air conditioners in the main building. Some of the classrooms have microphones fitted but not in use, making it impossible to listen to the teacher while sitting in class.

Faculty: I can't complain about the faculty because it is a mix and match of amazing and well-good professors. Some of the professors teaching the modules really know their course through and through, but that comes with experience as well. The semester exams are set by Calcutta University, and like all the other bachelor's degrees, CU has questions that take aeons to complete, and somehow you still don't get the marks for them.

This college needs a lot of improvement in its infrastructure and placement process.

Placements: Asutosh college does not have a proper placement cell. There is a placement team who sometimes organizes a few job fair, and a handful of students manage to get placement offers. But, the packages are not that great. The average package was 2 LPA while the highest package was 3.5 LPA.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the campus of Asutosh College is very old and dusty. The classrooms are very small as compared to the number of students in our batch. We have a few labs but most of the equipments are old. We do have a few sporting facilities in our college campus like cricket, football and volleyball.

Faculty: The teachers and other faculty members of Asutosh College are to some extent good. They have good knowledge about their subjects and also cover the syllabus on time. The course curriculum is also good and covers all the latest trends. The semester exams are a bit difficult, and you need to follow the classes properly to score good marks.

It provides good placements every year. It also has a good infrastructure.

Placements: About 70% of students who applied got enrolled in the course. The highest salary package offered is 2 LPA, but the lowest salary package offered is not disclosed. The top recruiting company for our course is Inventiva. Almost 70% of students got an internship in companies like Inventiva, FirstSportz, etc. It offers many roles like content writing.

Infrastructure: Classrooms are spacious and airy. Wi-Fi is available all throughout the campus. The benches are sturdy. Due to COVID-19, we had to spend a good amount of time at home. The canteen is adequate. Hospitals are close by. Sports are held everywhere, and facilities of games are state of the art.

Faculty: Teachers in our college are very helpful. During the challenging times of COVID-19, our teachers, along with us, had to shift their expertise to suit the needs of online teaching. Courses are completed in time, leaving ample behind for revision. The course curriculum is industry-grade. Semester exams held by the university are pretty standard in terms of difficulty.

The good infrastructure of this college Satisfied with the faculty.

Placements: Forty to fifty percent of the study was conducted at many renowned companies like Amazon, Tata, Infosys, and others. The highest package is above 20 lacs per annum, and the average package is above 4 lacs per annum. More than 60 percent of the students get internships each year.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available in the college buildings, and labs and classrooms are separate for each department. The college has three libraries with over 20,000 books available. The hostel quality is good, and the food is also good.

Faculty: The teachers were very helpful to the students; they always helped them with various problems. The curriculum system is very good; it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are standard, and like other colleges, the passing percentage is likely above 80 percent each year.
