SNU Chennai PhD admissions 2024 are open for the January Session. The last date to apply for the same was Nov 24, 2023. However, the written exam dates have not been released on the official website. The tuition fee for PhD at SNU Chennai is INR 72,000. This fee is sourced from official website/ sanctioning body and is subject to change. Futher, candidates also have to pay for refundable caution deposit of INR 10,000 ( one-time) & admission fee (one-time) of INR 5,000 at the time of admission. The thesis fee will be INR 15,000, which is to be paid at the time of submission of PhD synopsis)

Additionally, the scholars will be provided with free shared accommodation in the hostel and Married scholars will be provided campus accommodation at a nominal rent.

To be eligible to apply for PhD course at SNU Chennai, candidates must have a PG degree in the relevant stream from a recognised university. No, admissions are through entrance exam scores only. The mode of application for all the courses is online, and admission is entrance exam-based or merit-based. The university conducts Shiv Nadar University Chennai Entrance Examination SNUCEE followed by a Personal Interview PI round. The accepted entrance exams are TNEA, GATE, SNUCEE, and others. So apply as the seats are limited and the competition is quite high.

Yes, SNU Chennai has merit-cum-means scholarships for first-generation/non-first-generation learners with an annual family income of INR 3 lakhs or below. As part of the scholarship, they get a fee waiver of 50% to 75% on their tuition fee. To be eligible for the scholarship a candidate has to pass both the SNUCEE entrance exam and the personal interview round.

In addition to that SNU Chennai also offers 10 scholarships for Class 12 rank holders of any State or Central Board and sports scholarships for candidates who have participated in National and international level competitions.

SNU Chennai offers three specializations under the four-year BTech course. These are Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (AI&DS), Computer Science & Engineering- Internet of Things (IoT), and Cyber Security (CSE). Admission to all these courses are done through a common admission process. Candidates are selected based on a valid SNUCEE score, followed by a PI round.

The percentage required for admission to various courses depends on the course selected by the students. For the undergraduate courses Class 12 with a minimum of 45%-75% aggregate is accepted by the university along with the various entrance exam scores.
