SMVDU offers a full-time, three-year/ four-year (including research)/ five-year integrated BA Hons programme at the UG level. SMVDU BA Hons seats are alloted to candidates based on their performance and scores obtained by them in the CUET UG. The total SMVDU BA Hons seat intake for the integrated BA Hons plus MA programme across both specialisations is 95.

Yes, candidates pursuing BA Hons at SMVDU can do an MBA after the completion of the UG degree programme. However, it depends on the course opted by candidates in graduation and how it will benefit them while doing their MBA. SMVDU BA Hons Scholarships are offered to the meritorious students who belong to economically weaker section of the society. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University offers a Merit-cum-Means Scholarship to the students which recognises merit of the BA Hons programme students at all levels and provides scholarships ranging up to five semesters of free education.

Aspirants who wish to take admission to the BA Hons programme offered by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University must appear for an entrance examination. The University accepts the scores of CUET UG conducted by the NTA. Therefore, Class 12 marks are not enough for SMVDU BA Hons course admission. It is just the minimum eligibility criteria.  

Candidates seeking admission to BA Hons at SMVDU cannot get direct admission to the programme as the University and its affiliated colleges accept the scores of CUET UG for SMVDU BA Hons admissions. The admissions are entirely entrance-based.  

SMVDU admission process are both entrance and merit-based followed by counselling. SMVDU accepts the admission on the basis of CUET exam for most of the UG & PG courses.  For few courses such as BTech, MBA, M.Tech admission are based on JEE/CAT/MAT/GATE/CCMT.

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University offers BE/BTech courses with a duration of 4 years. Admission to this course is based on JEE Main scores and it is not possible to get admission to SMVDU Katra without JEE Main or CUET UG.

Along  with this a lot of courses are offered by this university and all have different eligiblity and criterias. All applicants have to fill the Common Application form through ONLINE Mode for admission in UG and PG programmes.The candidates will be submitting an appication fee of Rs. 1,500/- while filling the ONLINE Application Form.

SMVDU conducts application process in two-phases. For Phase 1, the last date of closing of application forms for BTech / BArch / MSc/ MA courses is May 15, 2024. The last date of closing of application forms for PhD Programme is May 22, 2024. The last Date of closing of application forms for MBA is May 24, 2024. 

For BTech/BArch/BA/BSc/BBA, the opening date of application forms Phase 2 are available on 15th day after declaration of common rank list of JEE/ CUET-UG 2024 result.
