Q:   Is there any entrance exam for Sri Venkateshwara University?

A: 

Yes, Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) conducts a Common Entrance Test (CET) in order to provide admission to candidates in postgraduate courses such as MA, MCom, MSc, MPEd, and MLISc offered on campus and through its affiliated colleges. The SVUCET is a university-level entrance exam that is conducted annually in order to offer students admission to postgraduate courses that are offered at the university. The entrance exam is conducted in offline mode, i.e., as a pen-and-paper test. The duration of the entrance exam is 90 minutes. Candidates must pass their qualifying exam with at least 40% marks in the concerned subject.

Q:   How safe is the campus of Sri Venkateswara University for students?

The Sri Venkateswara University campus is completely Wi-Fi-connected. The university provides computers and uninterrupted internet facilities for research students and the faculty on campus. Direct internet facilities and common internet hubs are set up near the hostels and quarters on the campus to provide internet access free of charge. The university's central library is the major resource centre that provides information for research students and faculty. It provides unlimited access to the UGC INFONET e-resources and e-journals through the UGC INFONET Digital Library Consortium. Besides meeting the infrastructure needs, a cultural centre and world-class gymnasium and sports facilities are available. The digital library, Wi-Fi connectivity, networking, smart campus, air-conditioned auditorium, development of greenery, and state-of-the-art furniture in classrooms, faculty rooms, offices, and the guest house are in progress.

A: 

Sri Venkateswara University provides residential facilities to graduate and postgraduate students, research scholars, post-doctoral fellows, and other researchers on the campus. Summer fellows, research associates, visiting scientists, faculty from other universities, and academics are also provided accommodation in the university guest house. Sri Venkateswara University's hostel for women started in 1954 with only one block. Now it has nine blocks: 5 in Premises I and 4 in Premises II, inclusive of a Working Women’s Hostel. There are three kitchens and five dining halls. The hostel office is attached to the hostels, with fourteen office staff and a manager.

According to the data available on the official website, a total of 12 companies visited the campus and more than 308 students were selected during Sri Venkateswara University placements in 2022.
