Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

The placement in 2015 is average.
Placements: In the general ECE department, 25% of students secured placement. The highest package is 4 lpa, the average is 3 lpa and the lowest is 2 lpa. And the top recruiters are Intel, Qualcomm, and Nokia. Around 40–50% of students secure internships, depending on the institution and location. And top roles offered are Software Engineer, Embedded Systems Engineer, Network Engineer, Data Analyst, Telecommunications, etc.
Infrastructure: Equipped with modern teaching aids, projectors, and a blackboard. Wi-Fi is available but not every time. The library is available and also a good library. The quality of facilities at hostel is bad and also food is bad. The canteen food is also bad. There are no sports and games.
Faculty: There are no helping teachers. They are qualified but not knowledgeable. The teaching quality is not good. The curriculum is relevant in core subjects. The maximum number of students passed the examination. The percentage of passing students is 70%. There is difficulty in semester exams.
Other: I think there is a good course but this time there is a very bad course. There is no best thing in this course. There are many things to improve in this course. No good events or fests and the campus crowd is average.

Good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: Last year, around 40% of students were placed. The remaining opt for higher studies, and others opt for start-ups. Also, many of them qualified for GATE and joined many IITs and other national colleges. This year's placement list has not been released yet, but this year too, most of them were placed, and many are opting for higher education.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good and is well maintained. There are nine total hostels. 4 hostels for boys, 3 for girls, and 2 for Masters and Ph.D. scholars. All the hostels have LAN connections available 24/7 with good speed. Mess food is okay and can be eaten. The Central Library of our college is the second-largest library in the Northeast after NIT Silchar. Also, the library has central AC with LAN facilities.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful. They are always ready to help whenever you need it. All are highly qualified, and most of them completed their higher education at foreign universities. We have two main exams in a semester: one is a midterm examination, and the other is an end-term examination. Also, we have to maintain the 75% attendance policy.
Other: ECE is one of the most demanding courses in the whole country, so I have chosen it. Also, the professors are friendly, and the seniors are also helpful. We have two major events in a year: one is techracy, the technical event, and the other is ecstacy, which is a cultural event. Also, we have many other small events throughout the year.

I am satisfied because of the faculty, facilities, and infrastructure, but the placements are not go
Placements: Placements in our college were poor in the previous years. I hope it will be better in the future. But in the past year, various students are placed in the good companies through off-campus drives and many of them also cracked GATE and other competitive exams with good ranks.
Infrastructure: The quality of facilities is above average, and the mess food is sometimes not good but other things like a medical, hostel, and sports are great. There are basketball, volleyball, lawn tennis court on the campus. Library is the most beautiful and is the best library in the Northeast.
Faculty: All the teachers are very experienced and have great knowledge. You can ask them any doubt to them in class or in-cabin at any time and they will try to resolve your doubts related to subjects and also your issues. The semester exams are above average but if you will concentrate on class and revise the subject you can easily pass.
Other: This course structure is similar to IITs. In our college, two events are held namely Techracy and Esctacy and you can take part in various technical and non-technical events, competitions, and workshops.

You can opt for this college if you want to learn new things and study.
Placements: Placements in our college are not good. In the current year, a few companies like Amazon, Intel, etc., visited the campus for recruitment. The placement depends on the marks that you got in the course i,e., SGPA. But they should improve in providing placements.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure provided in our college are good when compared to state government colleges. The best part of the college is that it has high internet speed in LAN. Hostels are good, but the toilets are dirty. The food served in the hostel is not good, but canteen is available. Medical Facilities are available, and you will enjoy the hostel life.
Faculty: Faculty members in our department are good, helpful and qualified. If you want to contact them for help, you can mail using your college mail ID or you can watsapp them for the problem.
Other: I opted for the course ECE because I am interested in electronics since my childhood. I love to do experiments. The practical parts in the course are much helpful rather than theory parts.

Absolutely satisfied with the studies and knowledge. We expect more from the placement cell.
Placements: Placements in the college have not been too good till now. However, many dedicated students have got job opportunities in some of the companies. Many of the students are now studying M.Tech in IITs and other good institutions after completing their B.Tech here. Students also prepare for GATE exam, and some of them were able to show good performance in the past years.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is really good. We have very nice facilities of particular labs, medical facilities, a robotics club along with various sports grounds. Moreover, we have a very well-set up library which is a remarkable one amongst all the libraries in the educational institutes of Northeast India. The quality of labs and classrooms is very good, and they include every necessary equipment like computers, projectors, speakers, etc. The laboratories have each and every necessary machine in them. The B.Des department is excellent and enriched with various latest technologies. Canteen food is good and hygienic. Hostel facility is also very good, and every hostel is provided with LAN service for students.
Faculty: Our faculty members are very nice and dutiful. All the students get equal priority from every faculty member. The course curriculum is the same as all AICTE approved colleges. Many students go for training as well as internship every year to some good institutions and industries.
Other: There are mainly two festivals held in CIT every year; the technical fest named Techracy and the cultural fest known as Ecstasy.

Q:   Is Central Institute of Technology good for B.E. / B.Tech?

A:
{Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Is Central Institute of Technology (CIT) good for BE/BTech?

Based on the reviews from students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

Pros:

* Good infrastructure: The campus has a well-maintained digital library, comfortable hostels, and excellent medical facilities.
* Qualified faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, experienced, and helpful, providing both theoretical and practical knowledge.
* Relevant course curriculum: The course structure is similar to that of IITs and NITs, making students industry-ready.
* Scholarships: Various scholarships are available for students belonging to different categories.
* Cultural and technical fests: The college hosts annual galas, including technical and cultural fests, attracting notable speakers and artists.

Cons:

* Poor placements: The placement record is not satisfactory, especially for the CSE department.
* Limited off-campus placements: Companies rarely visit the campus for off-campus placements.
* Low packages: The salaries offered during campus placements range from INR1.50 Lacs to INR4.20 Lacs per annum.
* Poor hostel facilities: Food quality in hostels is often criticized, although amenities like Wi-Fi and LAN connections are available.
* Limited international exposure: While the college claims to offer industrial exposure, the extent of international collaboration and projects is unclear.

Overall assessment: While CIT has its strengths, such as qualified faculty and relevant course curricula, it struggles with poor placements and limited off-campus opportunities. Students seeking better job prospects may want to consider alternative options. However, those who prioritize academic excellence and a strong educational foundation may still find CIT suitable.

Keep in mind that individual experiences may vary depending on factors like departmental preferences and personal relationships with faculty members. It's essential to weigh these pros and cons carefully before making an informed decision.
