About Thapar University, Patiala

Placements: The placements are fine this year- neither good nor bad. Almost 50% students are placed till now. Almost every big company visits the campus. You have to maintain a good CGPA, have knowledge of your branch, and be good in other non-curricular activities to get placed.

If you can't get IIT, BITS or any NIT, then go for Thapar.

Placements: There are no core companies visiting for mechatronics. 50% students are placed (17 students out of 34). Major recruiters like ZS, Mahindra, Alstrom, Infosys etc. hire the students. Placements are good if you can maintain an average CGPA of 6. The average package is 6 lakhs/year but you can get placement in mainly IT and consultancy companies.

This is a good College. It has a good location. However, the fee is too high and goes on increasing year after year but the quality of education is nice and placements are almost 100%. The crowd and campus life are awesome. Overall, a very good college for engineering, but not so well for Management Studies.

It is one of the most expensive universities in India, sustaining only because of the placements in graduation. In post-graduation, they just screw you with burden all the time and expect a lot from students with zero effort of their own. There are no placements and no collaboration too. It is the best place to enjoy as you can come here and spend your money lavishly.

Thapar university has a rich past, with teaching technical education since 1956 (established) and recognized as a deemed university in 1985. Even after having such a rich history, it does not get any mention among top universities of the country. At Thapar, the top branches like Computers, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering have good professors and placement opportunities, although rest of the branches get placed too but with a few efforts. There is a lack of motivation among students to stu...

Thapar University is one of the best-known engineering colleges in India as well as in some foreign nations also. The college also provides good placements but only to B.Tech students. Many companies will reject your resume only because you are a MCA student without even taking your interview. The fee structure is so high that an average person cannot even afford it. Hostels are good. Infrastructure is very poor when you compare with the amount of fee you pay. So in an all, I will not recomm...

Lot of lush green lawns and is sparkling clean and undoubtedly the best part is the new hostel j . No vehicles are allowed in the campus except bicycles. Though the administration provides with a parking lot but no vehicles inside the campus even to the physically handicapped. The in house medical center is decent and there is also an ambulance on call 24X7. The best part now is sadly the sports infrastructure which has a couple of synthetic tennis courts, a couple of basketball courts and a sin...

Disappointed because of the faculty recently. Placements are not good, but infrastructure is good .

Placements: Average placements recently are not nice. The top recruiters are Apple, Google, Infosys, etc. 60–70% of students were placed. The total number of students placed this year was 1770; further, 70% of students were placed and the average package was around 5 lakh to 11.09 lakh.

I am dissatisfied with the faculty and hostel management.

Placements: Around 40% of students get placed on our campus. The highest salary package offered was 2.5 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 2 LPA. The average salary package offered was 2.2 LPA. Infosys and TCS were some of the top recruiting companies. There was no scope of internship for MCA students.

This college is not worth the money.

Placements: Around 50% of students are placed in summer internships during 2021. The highest salary package offered is 44 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 5 LPA. The average salary package offered is 10 LPA. The roles offered are data analyst, software engineer, developer, software tester, and DevOps engineer during internships. Over 200 companies visit our campus for on-campus placements.
