Perfect place to enrich the knowledge by exploration.
Placements: In our college, the placements are efficient. The package for the students differs from course to course. Management school and health school in the campus carry the highest package in the college as they are having separately committee to maintain the contacts with passed out alumni. Eventually, school of social work and other schools also work to the achievement of the highest packages. The management schools and health school's where the highest package is averagely 14 lacs per annum. While for others it averagely ranges from 7 lacs per annum. The internships are also given in the same way as branded companies. As the last word, all the companies which are master in their field of the courses available in the college have opened their vacancies to TISS.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is one among the vital plus point for the college. You don't feel like you are in mid of busy city of Mumbai. It is full of trees and spacious verandas and ways. There is Wi-fi connection in all the campus without any restriction. The library is the significant advantage of TISS with 24*7 hours and having internet connected 120 systems with printer facilities which make the students more comfortable to quench their knowledge thirst. There is one health center with a full time working doctor and counselor for both mental and physical health. There are several part-time psychological councilors also which will assist you to adapt to a new place and new things. There is one whole building for sports and other activities with three floors for recreation including badminton court, chess, carrom, dance mirror, table tennis and fully equipped GYM. Other than this there is outdoor football, badminton, volleyball and basketball courts for our physical fitness. There is one self-help group canteen with good quality food with reasonable rate. It is a good place to stay and study. There is an availability of separate hostels plus gender neutral hostels in India for the first time.
Faculty: From my experience of one year, I genuinely promise that here teachers are super awesome. They won't be like typical teachers. They all are super cool with nonjudgemental handling and friendly. Most of the faculty members are awarded for their work in their field in India level. The teaching way mostly of group discussion method and rarely one-way teaching. Mostly the lectures will be related to the fieldwork or intern we about to go. They don't have much belief in exams, and hence, the tests will be mostly of creative assignments. The curriculum is quite high and of good quality comparatively high than other courses. There is full freedom to learn the things we interested, and we wanted to.
Other: TISS is full of fests and events. For both entertainment and knowledge, there are different events which will be hosted by different schools. The campus is of less crowded as the intake of people is very low. The scholarship is available based as per the category and income of the family. It is of totally independent campus, and it is of freedom with responsibility.
