UEM is a good private college for engineering students.
Placements: Every year, almost 65%-80% students get placed in our course. The highest, the lowest and the average packages of this course are 72 LPA, 4 LPA and 8 LPA respectively. Top recruiters are TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, Infosys, etc. Above 85% of the students get internships in companies like TCS.
Infrastructure: In our college, many facilities are available including labs, ACs, library etc. In our lab, there are so many useful equipments. These are very much useful and sufficient. We do experiments using those equipments. Teachers help us with the experiments.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful. They teach us with good notes and PPTs. They are very qualified and knowledgeable. Semester exams are pretty much difficult than the other institutes. Most of the students get above 9 CGPA, with many of them getting a CGPA score above 8.
Other: I want to learn about the technology and software based things which made me choose this course. College campus is very crowded every time. Many events are conducted in the college like Utoia, Ecstasia, Reckon, etc.

Dynamic learning environment with opportunities for review of the UEM Kolkata CSE course.
Placements: This year, due to the recession, approximately 20% of placements were offered until March. The highest package is 9 LPA from TCS Prime, with an average of 4.5 LPA and the lowest is 3.36 LPA. The top recruiting companies are TCS, Accenture, and Bentley System. The top roles offered were software engineer, trainer, and system engineer.
Infrastructure: High-speed Wi-Fi connectivity is available across the campus, including classrooms, labs and common areas. The quality of food is generally hygienically prepared. The first-aid facilities are available for medical emergencies or health concerns promptly. The students participate in various sports and extracurricular activities.
Faculty: The faculty members are highly qualified, holding advanced degrees (Masters or Phds) in their respective fields of expertise. They use teaching methodologies including lectures, discussions, hands-on exercise and case studies. The pass percentage for the semester exam from internal marks depends on student attendance and performance in class.
Other: I chose the Computer Science and Technology course because of my passion for technology and innovation. Increased focus on soft-skills development. Including communication, teamwork and leadership to compliment technical expertise.

My honest review of my college.
Placements: I think around 70% of the current batch students were placed in a well-to-do company. But many couldn't because of the lack of job offers and companies that are not currently looking to employ people. Top recruiters were Cognizant, Infosys, and TCS. All types of roles were offered, both technical and non-technical. For internships, students have to look for them themselves because companies don't visit our college to hire interns.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is small but sufficient. Everything a student could ask for other than a bigger campus is there in our college. Wi-Fi, classrooms, library, gym, canteen, hall, etc., are all provided by the management. Out of 5, I would give it a 3 because of the slow Wi-Fi speed and the quality of classrooms.
Faculty: All the teachers taking our classes are qualified and knowledgeable. The curriculum is quite relevant, but I don't think it's very helpful. Students have to work their way through to get a proper job. The college won't provide you with all the necessary things you need. At the end of the day, it's all up to you.

Good college but school like feeling.
Placements: I am currently in 3rd year of my B.Tech course and the senior batch of mine is doing very poor as only 30% of the students were placed. Accenture is the only company who did a mass recruiting and recruited a total of 164 students. Other than that Only handful of students are getting placed by outer companies. In my course little to no students are getting an internship because our college has a strict attendance count. And students can not do offline internships during college period. Top roles include web developed, app developed etc.
Infrastructure: In our course facilities are available like good classroom and computer labs and college has Wi-Fi which has improved speed. Classrooms are clean and labs have modern computers. Library has lots of books to read and selection of books is vast. The classes are well thought out, we have relevant and good subjects like DSA, networking etc. Hostel is not attached with college it is around 1 km away from college students go by foot or by cycle to go to college. WE do not have a mess in hostel or canteen but we get food 3 times. We can play anything in the hostel but we need to bring our own sports gear in hostel.
Faculty: Yes teachers are very helpful they teach well in class and if you have doubt you can go to the teachers after college and they will make you understand. Teaching quality is also good. The course curriculum is very relevant we are always taught the latest and most relevant subjects. We are also taught management organizational behaviour like subjects which makes us industry ready. The semester exams are rarely easy and with proper study almost everyone can get a good score. The passing percentage is over 90%.
Other: I chose this course because I had a keen interest in computers and how they work. The best thing about our course is the Subjects we have to study. They are very interesting. I just wish that we should get more lab classes as we have many theory class and only 2 lab classes per day. Our college conducts a lot of events and fests like Reckon (College teach fest), Ecstasia (Cultural fest), Eutopia (cultural fest where celebrities also come) etc. The college this year is more crowded than ever as the strict attendance rule makes everyone attend the college just opposite the campus we have a food court and many street shops selling various food items. Students can avail scholarships like SVPAM scholarship and HDFC scholarship. Our college is very involved in sports like basketball table tennis etc.

Truth of University of Engineering and Management, Kolkata (IEM, Newtown).
Placements: The placement package at the college is not so high. But if you prepare yourself for a company placement, you can get a job. Every year, many companies come for the placement activities. Over 90% of students get placed. But in the year 2024, the placement rate is not so good for this college as this is the recession year.
Infrastructure: For the CST course, there is a computer lab and an electronics lab. And you will get experienced teachers there. There are different classes for each section. There is an AV hall, an auditorium, and high-quality machines in the labs. In the labs, there are ACs present.
Faculty: There will be 2 midterms and then the semester exam in one semester. The role of faculty members is average. Some of them will do their best to help you, but some of them will not. The question pattern is as directed by UGC guidelines. But as our university is autonomous, they set their question paper as their own (either from UEMK, either from UEKJ, or either from IEMK).
Other: The rules and regulations of this college are very strict.
