Candidates must have Bachelor's degree with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for OBC/ OEC and mere pass for SC/ ST) is required to apply for MBA course. Additionally, two-year professional work experience is required to apply for MBA part-time course. In addition to this, candidates must appear in one of the entrance exams such as CMAT, CAT, KMAT, KMAT KERALA, and others. 

The University of Calicut does not conduct its own entrance test for MBA admission. Instead, it accepts valid scores from the Common Admission Test (CAT), Common Management Admission Test (CMAT), or Kerala Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) as an alternative means of evaluating the aptitude and knowledge of candidates for the MBA programme.

The two years MBA programme at the University of Calicut is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the various aspects of business management. The curriculum is structured to include courses in areas such as Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Operations Management, and Strategic Management. The programme also includes a capstone project, which allows students to apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired throughout the programme to a real-world business problem. Calicut University offers UG, PG Diploma and doctoral courses, under 35 different departments divided into nine schools, for different streams, such as Engineering, Science, Law, Commerce and Management, among others.
