University of Mumbai [MU] LL.B. Highlights 2023

In the field of law, Mumbai University offers 3-year and 5-year LLB programmes at the UG level. While candidates must have a UG degree for 3-year LLB, admission to 5-year LLB is given to Class 12 pass outs. The below table mentions the minimum eligibility criteria for both these programmes along with their selection criteria:

3-year Bachelor of Law (LLB)

- A pass in any bachelor’s degree with 45% aggregate (in case there is no entrance test conducted by the Law department/affiliated college under MU)

- Those having a valid institute-level entrance exam score or a valid score in an entrance conducted as per the rules of MU are required to have 40% aggregate in the UG degree

The University may conduct a Common Eligibility Examination from its Department of LawORthis exam will be conducted through any of the Law colleges affiliated to Mumbai University

5-year Bachelor of Law (LLB)

- A pass in Class 12 with 45% aggregate (in case there is no entrance test conducted by the Law department/affiliated college under MU)

- Those having a valid institute-level entrance exam score or in an entrance conducted as per the rules of MU are required to have 40% aggregate in Class 12

NOTE:There is a 5% relaxation for SC/ST students in all the qualifying scores for admission both these courses.

A Good College for Those Who Can't Afford Big Fees for the College They Want.

Placements: I have passed B.Com from the college and there are fewer opportunities for placement for students. 70% of students are placed in my course. It's good for commerce. There are no recruiting companies in the college, but with the help of the cultural department, you can participate in extra activities.

Infrastructure: There are good classrooms, a library, a cultural department, and there is also a hostel facility available. There is a playground on campus with many food stalls. The bus stop and railway station are also nearby, making it easy to travel. Teaching is excellent, and the teachers are supportive.

Faculty: The professors are very kind and helpful to students. They always try new ways to teach. In my batch, 75-80% of students passed. Because of their notes and strictness, the exams get easier to pass. The environment of the college is the best and peaceful. Good students.

Other: They have a good management department for activities and leadership opportunities.

Top College with Quality Teaching and Placements.

Placements: The percentage of students placed had 80–90% chances of an internship. They offer around INR 30,000, depending on knowledge and competency. Multiple law firms—Desai & Diwanji, Bharucha, Bose, etc.—visit the campus. I would recommend contacting law firms as per your need for more clarity.

Infrastructure: Amazing college grounds are there. It's huge and well maintained by the ground staff. We managed to use it only on certain occasions. It is also famous for volleyball and various other activities. I have seen multiple players for athletic and other events on the field.

Faculty: Teachers are really talented. Teaching techniques are relatable to real-world problems. Prof. Sonkar was a star professor for me during my course. Also, the CHB professor ensures the syllabus and portions are covered with quality examples. The office staff is also kind to all issues.

Placements: The college has good placement opportunities, but there is a need for more support in securing internships. While top companies recruit, students often struggle to find internships on their own. The college should provide better guidance and resources for internships, such as workshops, networking events, and partnerships with companies. Internships are essential for building practical skills, and more assistance in this area would greatly improve career readiness and job opportunities after graduation.

Infrastructure: The classrooms are fully air-conditioned and equipped with smart classrooms. The infrastructure is well-maintained. Our campus has five canteens in total, with one main canteen and four stalls around the campus. The sports facilities are decent and include a girls' common room and an indoor badminton court. The library is also well-equipped with a wide variety of books, providing a peaceful environment to study.

Faculty: Our department has well-qualified teachers who are always willing to help students eager to learn. The course offered to us is up to date and relevant. The semester exams can be a bit difficult, but if you study regularly, you can easily cover the syllabus and score good marks.

Placements: Placements are offered in companies like Deloitte. One of my friend also got selected in this company. It is very proud moment for students to get placed in such top companies in Mumbai. This college was very supportive in all fields.

Infrastructure: All facilities were available like Wi-Fi, library, laboratory, etc. Our campus had a very good environment. Vibes on the campus are always good and you will always feel excited for something. I am a proud to be student of KES. You will never feeling boring on campus.

Faculty: This college prepared students for the toughest exams. Faculty members taught us very well. They teach us form the real life examples. The love and support you get from college are excellent.

Quality education, worth of money if student is active.

Placements: This college's placement cell isn't active but the quality of education provided gets you internships easily. By taking part in moot court competition they prepare you for court and that adds in your curriculum vitae which gets you better jobs after graduation.

Infrastructure: Not too big not too small but a sufficient space for this much students, this college has canteen, a gym khana and gym and the most important part of the college which is the library. Library is filled with very good books or prominent authors as well as semester books so you don't have to go anywhere else.

Faculty: Teachers here are well qualified and has in-depth know in their area, If you are hardworking they go an extra mile to help you out in things. They provide quality education as well as encourage you to take part in different curriculum, if you study throughout the year we'll you can maintain good CGPA as the exams are not that hard.

Other: This college keeps organizing various events throughout the year, the crowd of this college is pretty average but everyone is very helpful but if you are active you get to have fun here.
