At Mumbai University, candidates have to meet the eligibility criteria for getting admission to the BSc programmes. To be eligible for pursuing BSc at Mumbai University, a candidate must have passed Class 12 with relevant subjects. The minimum aggregate required in Class 12 varies across the specialisations offered. For most specialisations, the minimum aggregate required in Class 12 is 35%. Hence, a candidate scoring 50% in Class 12 is eligible to apply for the BSc courses offered at the university. However, the BSc admissions at Mumbai University are subject to clearing a cut-off based on the merit in Class 12. The candidates are offered a seat only if they manage to clear the cut-off required for the particular specialisation. In case the candidates are unable to clear the BSc cut-off released by the university, they can pursue BSc through the colleges offering online BSc courses.

Q:   What is the criteria for seat reservation at Mumbai University?

A: 

Talking about seat reservations at Mumbai University, 13% of seats are reserved for SC candidates, 7% are reserved for ST candidates and 19% of seats are reserved for OBC category candidates. Other than the SC, ST and OBC categories, 11% of seats are reserved combined for NT (B), NT (C), NT (D) and DT (A) categories. Beyond all these, 10% of seats are reserved for General categories and there are a few seats also reserved for women, SBC, Physically Handicapped and other categories.
